Tuesday Brief

So at last the vaccine for Covid 19 is being rolled in our country. The distribution from the manufacturer’s end to the city storage place has started and within few days health authorities will start vaccinating the people. Govt is giving first priority to Doctors and health care workers.

Now coming back to my blog :

What to say about Shiv Sena and its mouth piece newspaper Saamana, which is being published from Mumbai.

Few days back an editorial in Saamana said,  it is good thing that there are indications that Rahul Gandhi will become president of Congress once again.”The rulers in Delhi fear Rahul Gandhi. Had it not been so, campaigns to discredit the Gandhi family would not have been carried out .A dictator is afraid even if one man is against him, and if this lone warrior is honest, the fear increases by a hundred times. The Delhi rulers’ fear of Rahul Gandhi is in this category,” editorial said.

It further added that “ one must accept the fact BJP has no alternative to Narendra Modi and Congress has no alternative to Rahul Gandhi. Despite propagating that Rahul Gandhi is a weak leader, he is still standing and attacking the government at every opportunity he gets,” it said. The Opposition will, at some point, rise from the ashes like the Phoenix.”

Shiv Sena’s praise for Rahul Gandhi comes a fortnight after Sena MP Sanjay Raut called for expanding the scope of the Congress-led UPA bloc, saying the Opposition should unite against the “dictatorial attitude” of the Centre and provide a “formidable alternative” to the Modi government.

Ahead of next month’s Aurangabad Municipal Corporation elections, the Sena and Congress, partners in the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra, have been at loggerheads over a demand to rename that city. While the Sena wants Aurangabad renamed Sambhajinagar after a Maratha warrior, many state Congress leaders have opposed this move.

The  spoke person of Congress has said that the MVA govt is working as alliance in Maharashtra based on Common Minimum Programme (CMP), and in this CMP there is no mention of changing the name of Aurangabad city& District.

It has so happened the spoke person and editor of Saamana, Sanjay Raut who is also a Rajya Sabha MP has been writing and speaking all types of thing which may harm MVA govt, Shiv Sena is thinking that as they are the largest party of this alliance and having the CM of their party, so they have right to say anything

The problem with Shiv Sena is that they are not comfortable with this alliance, as it is against  basic ideology which was pro hindutva. Now see the irony, they were in alliance with BJP and they fought the assembly election together and the alliance won the election and obtained the majority. But on the issue of CM’s post Shiv Sena broke the alliance, as BJP refused to give CM post to them because BJP had won 105 seats against Shiv Sena’s tally of 56 seats. So after the long discussions and bargaining with Congress and NCP, the MVA govt came into existence Shiv Sena person as CM. From the beginning, this MVA alliance was in contradictions, but they are sticking together because of power. Due to some wrong decision by this govt and Shiv Sena controlled Mumbai Municipal Corporation , this MVA govt lost the face, the classical examples  are Palghar Lynching case, Kangana Ranaut case and Metro yard at Kanjur Marg, in all these cases the High Court (HC) and Supreme Court (SC) reprimanded the Maharashtra govt.

Now coming back to Rahul Gandhi, and he being president of Congress. He was congress  president earlier, and in his leadership Congress suffered their worst two defeats in Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and 2019, when they won just 44 and 54 seats. In his leadership Congress contested many state assembly elections but except for Chattisgarh their performance was pathetic. After forming the govts in MP and Karnataka they could not held on to their MLAs and both the govts were toppled by BJP. Critics might say that Congress won Punjab state elections, but in that victory Rahul Gandhi’s role was minimal, and it was because of the leadership of Capt. Arminder Singh (Now CM), who took his own decision in all respects, without consulting the central leadership.

So, now if Sanjay Raut wants to portray Rahul Gandhi as brave leader, then I can not comment on his statement. This brave leader left the leadership of Congress after 2019 defeat, are the leaders made of such character. So if Shiv Sena and Sanjay Raut wants to praise Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, in that case BJP will be very happy, as they have always maintained that as long as Rahul Gandhi or any member of Gandhi family takes over the leadership of Congress, they have nothing to fear.

So let us wait and watch for future development on this matter.
