Monday Post

Till date yesterday was the worst day in the history of  India’s Covid cases, the cases in the country went up by 40,00+, which  made the total figure go beyond 11 lakh cases, with national death toll rising to 26,600.  The only good thing is 7 lakh patients have recovered from the virus, and the figure of active cases now stand at 3.9 lakh. The national fatality rate is little less than 2.5% , which is  the lowest in the world among the countries having more than 1 million cases.

Even Maharashtra state also registered the maximum cases till date with the figure of 9500+ cases, the overall death figure here stands at 11,854, including yesterday’s figure of 258 deaths. The total number of cases in Maharashtra has crossed over 3.1 lakh, which is more than the total number of cases in UK (294,792), which is 10th most affected country. Now coming to Mumbai city, till total number of cases here were 101,300+ cases, including yesterday’s figure of 1038. Mumbai which at one time was contributing to more than 50% of daily cases in Maharashtra, now the figure has come down to 11%, which means that cases in other parts of Maharashtra are increasing at rapid rate, which is very alarming situation. As compared to rest of Maharashtra, the death rate is Mumbai is still hovering around 5%+, which is more than double of national average.

Now with festive season approaching the situation is going to be very critical. The Ganpati festival, which is the biggest festival in the state of Maharashtra is only month away. The politicians, including MPs, MLAs and Corporators have started putting pressure on govt that Govt should lift the restrictions of travelling in the state during this festival, as most of the people who have settled in big cities would like to go to their home towns/villages during Ganpati festival. Till date the state govt has not allowed any festival of any community to be celebrated in normal manner due to Covid pandemic, and they are not giving any permission for Public Ganpati Function (Sarvajanic Ganesh Utsav), and has requested that even Ganpati idols which are installed at home, should not be more than 2 feet tall and people should celebrate with family members only in a low key. In this type of situation if govt allows free movement in the state during the Ganpati festival, then no one can predict what will happen with the Covid situation in the state, which is already in very dangerous situation. Here I want to point out a statement by Maratha leader Sharad Pawar, who commented when someone told him that Ram Janambhoomi Temple Trust has invited PM Modi for foundation stone laying ceremony, he commented that “ by laying foundation stone of Ram Temple, is not going to help nation in fighting the Corona Virus.” On the other side his party’s leaders want govt to ease travelling restriction during Ganpati festival. Now can he answer whether ease in travelling restrictions will help in fighting Corona virus or worsen the Corona situation. In my opinion ease in travelling restrictions, will definitely going to affect in the manner which will  worsened the Covid situation.

On vernacular news paper while giving the news on Temple Trust’s invitation to PM for stone laying ceremony of Ram Mandir reported in this manner “ The temple trust has invited PM for stone laying ceremony of Ram Temple, at site where once Babri Mosque stood.” What does this mean, that it is still disputed site, and Temple Trust is forcefully doing the stone laying ceremony at this site and PM is invited for the same. Whereas the fact is India’s highest Court, The Supreme Court, has already given the verdict in this case and clearly said in the verdict their verdict the temple existed before the mosque, and mosque was built by destroying the temple, and they allotted the land for temple, and directed the govt to allot another land for mosque building. This type of reporting by the media is highly deplorable and should be condemned by all. Otherwise the matter which has been resolved by Supreme Court, may again give rise communal dis harmony.

Friends, what you say.

Awaiting for your views/feed backs/comments.
