Thursday Brief

So yesterday, Supreme Court (SC) handed over the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput to CBI. Many feel that this decision of SC was in accordance with the general public’s belief that the case was not handled by Mumbai Police in a proper manner, as the general perception is that they were pressurised by their political bosses, not to reveal the truth relating to death of Sushant, which was declared was suicide. But when the details starting emerging in media about the suspicion that there was more than suicide angle, as  more and more skeletons started coming out.  It has been reported in the media that many big people of Bollywood are connected with the incidents which ultimately lead to his death. Mumbai Police did their best to investigate the causes leading to his death, but looks like their hands were tied. In the meantime Sushant’s family filed a FIR in Bihar, and when Bihar Police came to Mumbai to investigate Mumbai Police never co operated with them ,and that led to Bihar CM requesting CBI to take charge. As Mumbai Police was not ready to handover the case to CBI, so matter went to SC, and in end SC yesterday decided to hand over the case to CBI, and gave order to Mumbai Police accordingly. Now see the behaviour of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), they have come out with the statement if any CBI officers come to Mumbai to investigate this case they will have to be in quarantine for 7 days.

Friends, you all will remember that few months back there was a case of lynching of 2 Sadhus and their driver at Palghar (Maharashta). There also local police abetted the lynching of innocent people, and the Maharashtra Police failed to take any action against the culprit. It was only after the video of lynching was aired by news channels, where it was clearly seen that people are hitting the sadhus and their driver and police present on site was mute spectator and in one shot it was clearly shown when one sadhu approached the police officer the police officer handed the sadhu to mob. After this video they were forced to take action, but initially they were reluctant to  arrest even after the persons were identified in video clip. Now latest on the case is that Police have failed to file any charge sheet in the stipulated time of 90 days in the court which resulted in court releasing many arrested persons.

Above two incidents have clearly exposed Maharashtra Police, and it is quite evident some political pressure have been exerted by political leaders of present alliance govt on the police department. These two were very highly publicised cases in media and still police could not perform their duties due to political pressures, imagine what would be happening in other cases which do not  get publicised. It might be that many culprits would be walking scot free, if they  have support of some political leaders, who could exert pressure on police. It was never expected that law and order of  one of the prime state of the country would go to such a low level , after Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) govt came to power in state. (For information MVA is alliance of Shivsena, NCP and Congress).

Yesterday, India  had a record of 70,000+ fresh cases of Covid 19  which resulted in total cases breaching the figure of 28 lakh+ mark, actually it stands at 28,33,015 cases. Maharashtra yesterday contributed to more than 13,000 cases, which is highest spike in one day, the total tally of Maharashtra now stands at 6,28,642 cases, which is 22.2% on national figure, a dubious distinction for the state. In 19 days of August , the state has added over 2 lakh cases, of which 19,331 (9.3%) were from Mumbai, whose contribution to state cases earlier were more than 33% and for some period it was even 50%. So the situation now is , in Mumbai cases are coming down or under control but in rest of Maharashtra the cases are increasing day by day, which is alarming situation. Even in other states, the situation is not very bad in major cities but cases are increasing in interiors, except in Telangana state where city of Hyderabad is having 6 times more cases than rest of the state. It looks like Covid pandemic is now reaching its peak in India in a very fast pace, some experts are of the opinion that by end of September the total cases figure might touch 50 lakh. So let us wait and watch, and keep our fingers crossed.

Waiting for your feed backs/views/comments.
