After creating a record of maximum number of cases in a day on 30th August, yesterday India created the record of maximum number of cases in a month. The total number of cases in the month of August 2020, stands at 19,87,705, earlier USA had registered 19,04,462 cases in July 2020. It looks like Covid 19 pandemic is surging towards its peak level, and no body knows when the downfall will start. The surge in cases was such that 54% of the total cases till date (36.8 lakhs) happened during the month of August 2020. Of these, 28.3 lakh cases have recovered while there are nearly 7.9 lakh active cases in the country. India’s active number of active cases is second only to USA where the count stands at 25.6 lakh. This pandemic has so far claimed 65,373 lives in India, whereas the figure for USA is 1.87 lakh.
Now coming to my other topic of the day:
Among fruits, there is one fruit which is usually considered as run of the mill and not really much talked about is GUAVA. This is a fruit which is available across the country and mostly throughout the year. Most of the people are not aware of its health benefits. For example, it is one of those fruits that are diabetic friendly and that is just the beginning. In local language this fruit is called Amrood or Peru. This fruit offers benefits such as
Blood Sugar Control
Many studies have proved that it is extremely good in regulating blood sugar levels. It is rich in nutrients, has high fibre and low glycemic index, which really makes it a coveted fruit for people with diabetes. It also said to prevent diabetes.
Immunity Booster
Well when someone talks about Vitamin C, then first fruit which comes to mind is Orange, but you will be surprised to know that Guava contains four times Vitamin C as that of oranges .Eating a Guava can provide you twice the Reference Daily Intake (RDI) of Vitamin C as compared to eating orange, And yet to one talks about it linked to Vitamin C. Low levels of Vitamin C is linked to many diseases, as Vitamin C helps in improving immunity levels. It helps protect our body from infections, as it kills the harmful bacteria and virus that cause the infection. However, it is important to keep replenishing the Vitamin C in our body through our daily diet, as it is flushed out easily from our body as well. This is more so for people of 50+ years, as that is when the immunity levels start going down. So eating Guava becomes very useful.
Anti Cancer
These days cancer is becoming regular affair, due to our unhealthy diet and lifestyle, and sometimes even due to the gene factor. Hence there is awareness about including anti cancer foods in the diet. Guava is said to have anti cancer properties and help prevent the same. It is rich in Vitamin C and also contains high amount of antioxidants, that prevent the free radicals from damaging the cells in the body. It includes a component called lycopene, which actually prevents uncontrolled growth of cancerous cells and also help in the cause of cancer prevention in a few ways, as explained by few research carried out on the subject matter.
Helps Hormonal Functions
Issues with thyroid and hormonal imbalances are one of the many factors, which is common among elderly people. Guava contains copper, which, as we know is useful in hormone production and absorption.
Above are few benefits of eating this wonderful fruit called Guava.
I hope you will benefit from this information relating to Guava.

Immunity & perceived benefits on eating Guava etc are probably only available ,if consumed a certain minimum every day for over a number of days . What are those ?
Eating them once in a while is good psycho boost & nothing more .

eating them once a while will not serve purpose. Any fruit is not going to give you the desired effect if not consumed on regular basis.Regular basis mean if not daily then at least 4 to 5 times a week. For any further details one has to consult a dietician. I, on regular basis consume Banana (Elaichi variety), Papaya, Guava and Apple, which has been prescribed by dietician
