Thursday Brief

Friends, some of our politicians think that the general public is so fool that  they can give whatever statement and they can misguide them. Classic example is yesterday’s statement of some Congress and NCP leaders on the subject of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCG) calling film stars like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shradha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh for question in the drug related case, which is outcome of inquiry linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. What these politicians are saying that this drug related questioning of film stars is just a diversionary tactics to distract the public from massive nation wide stir against the farm bills. Now first thing is that the names of many film stars were in the media for quite some time in this drug related case, and definitely it was before the  quoted farm bills which were passed by Rajya Sabha on Sunday (20th Sept 2020).According to media reports there is not wide spread agitations by farmers against these bills, the fact is that the bills are anti farmers in the mind of these politician, because with these bills the people who are going to be affected are middlemen or commission agents, and most of politicians from Congress/NCP are involved in the same trade directly or indirectly. Do these politicians think public is so naïve that they can not see their game plan of instigating farmers for agitations, and do they also think that the general public is so attached to these film stars that they will believe in their innocence, whereas fact of the matter is whole world knows how these film stars live their life.

Recently, Supreme Court (SC) held Prashant Bhushan guilty of contempt of court, as he was repeatedly tweeting against SC judges and judiciary . So SC imposed a token fine of Rs 1. Citing his conviction by SC, Bar Council of Delhi (BCD), has asked the activist/advocate to explain why his enrolment should not be revoked, as licence to practice law has been issued by BCD to Prashant Bhushan. This move by BCD is  due to the fact that Bar Council of India passed a resolution on 6th  Sept 2020 asking BCD to make a legally mandated decision in this matter, keeping in mind Prashant Bhushan’s conviction. Now he is asked to appear in person or via video conferencing on 23rd Oct 2020. The BCD served a notice to Prashant Bhushan and gave him 15 days time to respond to it. It is said that in case he does not appear before the council, the proceedings will be conducted in his absence. A Bar Council of a state grants licence to practice as lawyer and has wide powers such as suspending or taking away the right of its members in certain situation to practice under advocates’ act.

For last few years, it has been seen that any advocate, who become activist takes things for granted, and starts speaking utter non sense against administration, judiciary and prevailing judicial system min the country. In this case also, Prashant Bhushan started saying  that all the judges of SC including Chief Justice, are corrupt and they always give biased judgement. When he started utter the same  repeated number of  times in his statement through social media, after that only SC court serve him contempt notice. In the Court also he/ his appointed advocate did not  behave properly in front of SC bench, at  that time also both of them were warned by the bench to behave. After that he started saying that he will not be bound by SC judgement etc etc. Even the fine of Rs 1, he was not ready to pay initially and what not he said about the judgement in the press.

These type of activists are really not desirable, because justice is one system , in which people still have faith. Generally when the disputes arises between two persons/parties, then one of them will definitely say “ I will you in court of Law.”

What you say, my friends.
