In today’s weekend blog, I am writing about the super hit songs of a deadly combination of playback singer and music director. The magic of Madan Mohan is beyond words. Possibly the best exponent of beautiful Hindi film songs based on classical music and ghazals. The name that has become inseparable from the magic of Madan Mohan is Lata Mangeshkar. When you start listening to them you do not stop for long time, as together they have created sheer magic in the world of soulful music. There are almost 100 songs by this combination and most of them were masterpiece. It has so happened that wherever I have chosen one particular song from a film but there may be many more hit songs from the same film, but still I could not afford to miss 2 songs from Who Kaun Thi and one song from Adalat, as I these songs were class apart, and had to be there in my list. Although he was nominated few times for Filmfare awards but he didnot not receive a single Filmfare award. Once the ace music director Naushad commented that Madan Mohan can take all my composed songs in return I would like to have his 2 songs from Anpadh, namely “ Aapki Nazarone Samjaha’ and ‘Hai Isi Men Pyar Ki Arzoo’ , such was his mastery.
