Today, I have found no interesting news item, on which I can write and comment on the same. Therefore I am writing about health  related topic.

Friends, often we hear about that somebody’s gut system is not working. Now what is this GUT. The gastrointestinal tract, digestive system, digestive tract or GUT is a group of organs that includes the mouth, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, gall bladder, small intestine, colon and rectum.

Now let us talk about how to improve your gut health. A balanced Gut Flora (ie Healthy Bacteria of gut) is key to your general well being, and what you eat ia an influential factor in your gut’s health. The diversity og Gut Flora is reflective of the overall health of a person. High diversity generally means Good Health and Low diversity means poor health.

It might sound all serious, however it is easy to take care of your Gut by following these simple 5 steps

  1. High Enough Fiber- Dietary fiber or roughage is the portion of plant derived food that can not be completely broken down by human digestive enzmes. Eat more fiber. You must have probably heard it before, but do you know why fiber ie good for the health? The fiber is found in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, is the best way to increase the diversity of Gut flora. Fiber is also known for its ability to prevent or relieve constipation, weight management, lowering the risk of heart disease and some types of cancer.
  2. Limit Packaged Food- One’s taste buds might not listen , but packaged foods such as chips, biscuits, chocolates etc are high in saturated fat. High saturated fat levels can elevate the amount of Bilophila Wodsworth, whose high amount can cause trouble for
  3. Limit Artificial Sweeteners- These could alter the human Gut flora, resulting in negative impact on glucose metabolism in the body. Artificial sweeteners are commonly found in low sugar or diet foods, such as soft drinks, low energy desserts. Research in humans is now suggesting the effects of artificial sweeteners may be contributing to metabolic syndrome and the obesity epidemic.
  4. Do Your Best To Avoid Unnecessary Antibiotics and Medications- many types of medications such as antacids, harmon replacers, steroids are harmful to your Gut flora, it is better to find natural alternatives whenever possible. Antibiotics both in food supply and as medicine, also tend to wipe out good bacteria along with the bad indiscriminately, so only take them if necessary and consider supplementing with a probiotic in conjunction to help maintain your healthy microbial balance.
  5. Look For Natural Supplements- You need to eat so do your Gut, so why not do some double duty?   7. Stay Active- Maintaining physical activity is important to a  healthy gastrointestinal tract, body and mind. Walking is one of the best healthy form of exercise.
  8. Avoid Tobacco- Smoking increases your risk of colon cancer, and number of other cancers and diseases.
