Super Fruit

Friends, today I am not commenting on Corona, instead I am straight way going to my other topic which is generally on health.

Today I am writing about one fruit which is one of those unsung heroes among fruits, one that has numerous health benefits, and yet you rarely hear people talking about the same. In olden days, this fruit and even all parts of the plant were considered to be medicinal and used in many home remedies. Many people in Ayurveda call it as pharmacy by itself, because it is so powerful in preventing and treating specific diseases. Many describe it as divine fruit and one of the healthiest fruit on the earth. Friends, I am talking about POMEGRANATE.

This fruit comes in light pink and blood red colours and  it is generally available throughout the year in most parts of India. Most people do not like it, for the pain of peeling it, and also at times, it may taste sour or tangy, instead of sweet. The plants parts like root, bark, leaves, fruit rinds and flower also used in many Ayurvedic medicines for stomach ailments, diarrhea, dysentery etc. There are many more benefits of the fruits, which is worth knowing.

HIGH NUTRIENTS

Pomegranate is highly nutritious fruit and it contains many essential vitamins like A, C, K, E and varieties of Vitamin B, and it is also loaded with antioxidants, much more than other sources. It also contains Phosphorus. Chromium, Aluminium, Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, Silicon, Nickel and Copper  It has very good anti tumour, anti inflammatory and anti viral, anti fungal and anti bacterial properties, and hence it is a wonderful preventive medicine against diseases like cancer. It also contains many acids which are beneficial to body.

HELPS IN DELAYING PREMATURE AGEING

Our body, once exposed to elements like sun, and environmental toxins, develop certain free radicals in it. These free radicals cause our body to age prematurely. However, the high anti oxidants present in pomegranate can prevent free radicals from forming in our body.

PREVENTS CLOTS

Blood clots are significant issues that can, at times, even be fatal. Clots formed in the body can travel anywhere, to your heart or brain, causing severe consequences. Clots may be formed due to certain injuries or body conditions as well. The best part of pomegranate is that it prevents the blood from thickening and forming clots. It helps in thinning the blood, which can help in keeping cardiovascular disease away. It also strengthens blood vessels and promotes red blood cells generation. Besides, it also lowers the Cholestrol and thus helps in keeping your heart healthy.

CANCER PREVENTION

Eating this fruit can prevent cancers, especially breast cancer, an oil prepared from the rinds of pomegranate is also said to prevent this disease , on application and massage. The juice of this fruit is also supposed to help in the prevention of prostate cancer, one of the most common cancer among aged men.

ALZHEIMER PREVENTION

A major cause of worry for the older population is the onset of dementia. A study , which was conducted on mice, has proved that the pomegranate juice can help in preventing Alzheimer. The juice, when consumed regularly, can do wonders for the memory and keep it sharp. It strengthens your nervous system and immunity also.

OTHER BENEFITS

It has been also said that this fruit helps in regulating blood sugar level and hence it is boon for diabetics. Pomegranate also said to block enzymes that cause the joint pains, and also since it is anti inflammatory, it helps people with osteoporosis. This fruit is also useful  for treating your digestive disorders, skin issues, liver problems, ulcers, burns, anemia, cough, nausea etc. It is also an excellent detoxifying agent. It is also said to help in hair fall prevention. Chewing and eating the fruit can also help with gum and teeth health. Thus overall, the pomegranate fruit is one that is super food that can benefit almost every part of our body and help us stay fit and healthy.

Friends, I was also not aware about the benefits of eating pomegranate till I came to know about this information, which I have shared with you today about this fruit. Although I also find eating this food very cumbersome,  but looks like  now I will have to start eating this fruit.
