For last few days there have been enough controversy about the number of trains required by Maharashtra govt for the migrant labours. Railways authorities say Maharashtra govt is not giving list of migrants to be transported in particular train in time, and also they do not make arrangements in time so that the migrant labour can reach the railway station before the scheduled departure time of the train. I do not know/understand how Maharashtra govt is handling this problem, but one thing which is very disturbing is the way the migrant labour assembled for knowing in which train and when they will be allowed to travel to their home state. For last two days I have been watching photos in which it is shown that migrant labours are assembled in certain area in open for getting the information or they are assembled for boarding the buses which will take them to respective stations from where the train will commence the journey. In the photo one can see there is no social distancing and it looks like there are no law enforcing agencies to control this mammoth crowd. To me it seems that Maharashtra govt just wants that these migrant workers leave Maharashtra, and if they get infected in the process then it will be responsibility of the other state. I feel pity for all these migrant workers. In my opinion the efforts and money which are being spend to send these migrants back, it would have been much better if Maharashtra govt could have taken proper care of the migrant labour during lock down and asked them to stay back. Now when the lock down is over and normal business activities will start then at that time there will be acute shortage of labour in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai region as this region mainly depends on migrant labours to run the business.
Secondly it looks like that the Congress has washed off their hands from what is happening in Maharashtra to control Covid 19 virus. As yesterday Rahul Gandhi of Congress, clearly said it is Shiv Sena Govt in Maharashtra and Congress party is supporting the same. Has he forgotten that Congress party in Maharashtra is part of the govt and have many ministers in the state cabinet. I fail to understand this statement of Rahul Gandhi. Let us wait and watch for any future development on this issue.
Now coming to health topic :
In our country many people suffer from Diabetes and blood pressure issues, with this chances of heart issues are more. It is always better to be aware about what can go wrong with heart. One of the lesser known heart issue in India is ATRIAL FIBRILLATION. What happens in this condition is that the heart starts beating fast and uneven. This mostly happens when people are more stressed and anxious, most of the times this issue is ignored, however this is serious issue and if it is not addressed properly, can increase the risk of stroke and other heart related complications. This can happen at any time and may come and go, and at times person do not pay much attention to this. Hence it is important to know about this conditions.
Symptoms- the typical symptoms that can be identified with conditions are :
- Palpitations-This is the most common symptom-sensation of a racing and irregular heartbeat, causing discomfort or flip flop in the chest.
- Chest Pain- This may or may not be there.
- Shortness of breath-Usually seen, especially while the symptoms last a little while.
- Weakness, fatigue, dizziness, confusion.
It is to be noted that not all symptoms may happen together, and neither it is confirmed that is Atrial Fibrillation. The important point is if the symptoms are severe and happened more than once, then medical care is advised. The doctor will do some emergency tests like ECG and Echo, and few other tests to determine whether the symptoms are of Atrial Fibrillation.
Causes or Risk factors- The possible causes that can lead to Atrial Fibrillation are:
- Age
- Stress, High Blood Pressure
- Viral infections
- Heart attacks, Coronary artery disease, abnormal heart valves, heart surgery
- Metabolic imbalances
- Certain triggers like medications, caffeine, tobacco, alcohol, foods etc.
- Lung disease
Diagnosis and Treatment- Depending on the cause and the nature of the condition, the doctors will try to restore the heart rhythm to normal. The people may have to be on continuous treatment to keep it well. Usually beta blockers anti arrhythmic drugs are prescribed to get the patient back to normal. Occasionally the doctors may also decide to do some procedures to get the issue corrected. With a little care and medication most patients can lead normal life, but they have to follow the guidelines given by the doctor.
