In today’s weekend blog, I am writing about some A rated Bollywood films of the last three decades, which people should not miss out in any case. Now, most of these films are available on various digital platforms, so if you have missed any of the films, please do watch the same. Here is the list of such films:
1 Ek Haseena Thi- 2004
Urmila Matondkar, Saif Ali Khan, and Seema Biswas feature in this proto suspense that will have the highest setting. The film is so well directed and made that will actually stay with you for a couple of days in your head.
2 Being Cyrus- 2005
This film is about a troubled Parsi household, is among the most distinctive cinema which will ever directed in the sector. Saif Ali Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Boman Irani, and Simone Singh featured in this psychological thriller and drama film.
3 Pinjar 2003
It is a film featuring Urmila Matondkar, Manoj Bajpayee, and Sanjay Suri, that is based on an Amrita Singh classic novel with the same title. This A rated film is centered on during the 1947 partition.
4 Kalyug- 2005
This action film, starring Kunal Khemmu, Emraan Hashmi, Smilie Suri, Amrita Singh, and Ashutosh Rana. The film portrays a young guy on his quest for vengeance for his wife’s loss of life due to leaked footage which hampered her imagery out in the public aand cause her to take drastic step.
5 Hey Ram- 2000
This film , situated in a parallel era, features Kamal Hasan, Vasundhara Das, Rani Mukerji, and Shah Rukh Khan, is about India’s division. It has a lot of history in it, so if you area fan of such a genre you should give definitely watch the same.
6 Chandani Bar- 2001
It stars Tabu in one of her finest works. It depicts the narrative of a young lady who is compelled to gyrate in a pub due to conditions, as well as how she nurtures her kids.
7 Matrubhoomi-A Nation Without Women-2003
The film received A rating because it addressed diversity and inclusion in a fictitious future in which a lady is forced into her marriage with five brothers owing to the dearth of ladies in that community.
8 Bandit Queen-1994
This picture is set against the backdrop of Phoolan Devi, and is rated highly, documentaries/films ever created. Controversial, yet interesting to watch and enjoy.
9 Black Friday- 2004
Anurag Kashyap produced and directed this film, which stars Kay Kay Menon, Pavan Malhotra, Aditya Srivastava and Zakir Hussain. The film is centered on the 1993 Bombay explosions which led to the loss of many lives.
10 Monsoon Wedding- 2001
This film of Mira Nair features an excellent star ensemble that includes Naseerudin Shah, Lilete Dubey, Shefali Shah, and Vasundhara Das. The storyline is what sets the film apart from other stories.
11 Astitva- 2004
This film created by Mahesh Manjrekar and featuring Tabu, Sachin Khedekar, and Mohnish Bahl. It explores subjects such as masculine arrogance, marital infidelity, and domestic violence.
12 Maachis- 1996
Chandrachur Singh, Om Puri, Tabu, and Jimmy Shergill feature in this film of political intrigue about the emergence of the Sikh rebellion in Punjab during 1980s.
13 Chameli- 2003
Directed by Sudhir Mishra and starring Kareena Kapoor and Rahul Bose. This A rated film depicts the situation of a night in which a venture capitalist meets a lady of the night.
14 Parineeta- 2005
Vidya Balan appeared in this film, which also featured Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt. This film is adapted from Sarat Chandra’s novel of the same title. It portrays the story of two childhoods and how their friendship develops through communication breakdown.
15 Dhobi Ghat- 2010
This film directed by Kiran Rao, features Prateik Babbar, Monica Dogra, Kriti Malhotra, and Aamir Khan. It depicts the adventures of four very diverse persons in Mumbai as their destinies collide.
