Indian Cinema Guinness Records

Guinness Book of the world is a reference book enlisting every extraordinary human achievement and the unnatural most diverse events of the natural world. On this note, listed below are some of the Guinness World Records made by Indian movies and Film personalities.

1 K Brahmanandam

He is a famous actor/comedian who works in  South Indian films. He currently holds the record for most screen credits for a living actor. In the year 2015, he had successfully finished 1000 movies in less than 30 years of his filmy career.

2 Sameer Anjaan

He is known for his renowned lyrics in Bollywood and was made into the Guinness Book of Record for being the only lyricist ever to compose 3524 songs as of 15th December 2015.

3 Asha Bhosle

She was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most recorded artist in music history. She has recorded more than 11,000 solo, duets, and chorus-backed songs in more than 20 Indian languages since 1947.

4 Kumar Sanu

He was considered one of the most eminent singers of the 90s era in Bollywood. He made Guinness world records in 1993 for recording the maximum number of songs in a day, that is, he recorded 28 songs in a single day.

5 Kapoor Family

The Kapoor family has acted in Bollywood films since Prithviraj Kapoor first appeared on the big screen in 1929 and the other members followed his footsteps. Till 2007 there were 26 members of this family, who have worked in the film industry.

6 Bahubali: The Beginning

This film was made into Guinness records for making the largest poster of more than 50,000 sq ft. The poster had an area of 51,598 sf ft.

7 Jagdish Raj

A Bollywood actor who most typecast. He has apparently played the role of a police inspector in 144 films in his filmy career.

8 Kaho Na Pyaar Hai

Hrithik Roshan made his super debut in this Bollywood film, which went on to win 92 awards. It made entry into the 2002 Guinness Book of World records for having the most number of awards for a movie.

9 Yaadein (1964)

This film made into the Guinness Book of world record as it featured only a single actor. Produced and Directed by Sunil Dutt, who also acted in the film. The only other actor in the film is Nargis, but her voice was only heard in the film and she was not shown on screen.

10 Lalita Pawar

The actress holds the Guinness Book of world records for having the longest film career as an actress. She made her debut at the age of 12 and acted continuously for 70 years. She has acted in more than 700 films.

11 P Jairaj

He made his debut in 1929 and acted for 70 years. He has acted in more than 300 films and was awarded the Guinness Book of world award for being the Bollywood actor with the longest film career.

12 Indian Film Industry

It is the world’s most profitable movie-making nation, with a net gross production of 800 to 1000 films every year that is almost double the net creation of Hollywood. The industry made the entry into the record book in 2009, with a total of 1288 films produced in 24 different languages.

13 Ashok Kumar

After his debut in Jeevan Naiya in 1936, the veteran actor has constantly acted in lead roles in many popular movies. He made into the record book for the longest Bollywood career in leading roles.

14 PK

This super hit movie by Aamir Khan was the most successful of all time, and it made it into the record book for the highest box office gross for a Bollywood film. It grossed Rs 6.22 billion as of January 2015.

15 Love and God

This film has consumed more than 20 years t complete after the devastating death of actor Guru Dutt and then director K Asif in 1971. Later Sanjeev Kumar took the lead in 1986, and the film was completed. The film was eventually made into the record book for having the longest production of a Bollywood film.

So these were some Guinness records associated with the Indian film industry.
