Friends, in Bollywood so many films are made, majority of them do the average business at the box office, but few films do good business and they have declared hits/super hits. In some cases the film may have been a hit/super hit, having a big star cast but you feel let down by the film, and you feel the ending of the film should not be as shown in the film. No one could deny that a bad ending to a film can spoil anyone’s mood. After all, it is quite irritating to sit 2-3 hours only to realize how stupidly the film ended. We are specifically talking about the films that ruined the engaging plot with an illogical and dumb ending.
Listed below are some of the recent popular Bollywood films that had the most nonsensical endings that we can neither forgive nor forget.
1 Mohabbetein:
After a heated argument with Raj (Shah Rukh Khan), Narayan Shankar (Amitabh Bachchan) realizes how his students could not handle his rules of Pratishta, parampara, and anushshan. So, he resigns and appoints Raj, an amateur music teacher, as the Principal of the institution. This sounds like a joke. We all know what will happen with Raj, the lover boy, taking charge of boarding school as principal. What a ridiculous climax.
The film was directed by Aditya Chopra
2 Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani:
Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor), one of the confused characters, runs after Naina (Deepika Padukone) just because he is jealous to see her with someone else. It is quite irritating how after leaving Naina for the second time in his career, Bunny shows the audacity to come to her home with a balloon and cake on new year’s eve, as if nothing happened. But, what leaves us even more disgusted was the fact that how Naina rather than slamming the door on Bunny’s face, accepts this man-child. Naina definitely deserved someone better.
The film was directed by Ayan Mukherjee.
3 Kabir Singh:
While this movie had multiple problems, starting with lead character Kabir Sing (Shahid Kapoor), who is abusive and misogynist. But what makes the film even worse is the climax. On one fine day, Kabir finds a pregnant Preeti (Kaira Advani) and got to know that it is his child. The couple get married and live happily after. But, did Kabir Singh deserve a second chance with Preeti? When this toxic man suddenly appears, how Preeti gets ready to go back to him in a split second is definitely an idiotic ending.
Directed by Kabir Khan
4 Kuch Kuch Hota Hai:
While the whole film was a problematic Bollywood romance, the ending leaves you disappointed. Why would Anjali (Kajol) go back to Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), who after the demise of Tina (Rani Mukherjee), his first love and wife, suddenly realizes that he misses Anjali and loves her; and ditch a caring and understanding man like Aman (Salman Khan)?
The film was directed by Karan Johar.
5 Paa :
The ending was senseless symbolism. When a couple gets married they take saat pheras around the fire, and when people die they are cremated in the fire. So, why not take pheras around to be pyre? Auro’s (Amitabh Bachchan) parents (Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan) getting married around his death bed is quite insensitive and senseless.
The film was directed by R Balki.
6 Cocktail:
Another film based on Bollywood’s stereotype of choosing Parvati over Poo. The film ending is about sundar susheel sanskari ladki Meera (Diana Penty) getting happily married to the boy Gautam (Saif Ali Khan), who cheated on her best friend, while an unsanskari Veronica (Deepika Padukone) remains alone. The better ending would have been if Veronica and Meera could have patched up and left Gautam, the lying and sexiest man alone.
The film was directed by Homi Adajania.
