Positive Attitude

Recently I read something on social media which I would like to share with you all. It is about POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

What is a positive attitude- it has been explained very nicely in the story  given below:

A guy called  Suresh is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in good mood, and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, “ If I were any better, I would be twins.

He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Suresh was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made all very curious, so one day someone named Ramesh went up to him and asked “ How you can be a positive person all of the time, and how do you do it”? He replied “ Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in good mood or…..you can choose to be in bad mood. I always chose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or..I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it”.

He further added, “Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or..I can point out the positive side of life. Choose the positive side of life”. Ramesh asked him and said, “ Suresh you are right, but it is not that easy”. He replied “ Yes, it is. Life is all about choices. When you can cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how to react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood. You can choose to be in a good mood or a bad mood. The bottom line is, it is your choice how you live your life”.

Ramesh reflected on what Suresh said. Soon thereafter Ramesh left that company to start his own business. Both lost touch with each other, but Ramesh often thought about Suresh, when he made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, Ramesh heard that Suresh was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from the communication tower. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Suresh was released from Hospital with rods placed in his back. Ramesh met Suresh about 6 months after the accident. When he asked him how he was, Suresh replied “ If I were better, I had been twins. Want to see my scars’. Which Ramesh declined, instead he asked Suresh what had gone through his mind as the accident took place. Suresh’s response was “the first thing went through my mind was the well-being of my soon to born child. Then as I lay on the ground, I remembered I had two choices- either to live or to die. I chose to live.”

Then Ramesh asked him “weren’t you scared? Did you lose consciousness”. Suresh continued and said “ The paramedics were great, and they kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room, and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read ‘he is a dead man’. That time I realized, that I need to take some action.” So Ramesh asked “ what did you do”?  He replied that “when a nurse asked him whether I am allergic to anything, yelling I replied yes I have an allergy to gravity, and medical staff started laughing. Then I told them, I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead”.

Suresh lived, thanks to the skill of doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude.

The moral of this story is every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

In the end, you have two choices for every situation, the first is to fret over it and worry, and the second is to have a positive attitude and face the same, and find the solution.
