Smart mobile phones have become an essential device in today’s world. Most of people rely on technology to stay connected with family, friends, and business associates/contacts. People stay connected with many apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, X, Instagram, etc. Many people videos, serials, and movies through OTT apps to spend their free time. One thing that becomes essential is the life of the phone battery between each recharge. Generally, people get frustrated when their phone battery conks off when they are watching something on the phone or calls, etc. Now each mobile phone battery has a life between recharges. In this blog, I am writing about how to extend the battery life per recharge for Android phones, as majority of the people are using phones based on this technology.
These tips can help put off the time when your battery stops holding any charge at all:
1 Dim the screen
Turn down the brightness of any screen you are on to at least half to help preserve battery life. This can be done by going to settings and manually lowering the brightness of your phone/tablet by dragging your finger along this line.
2 Shorten the time until sleep mode
Laptops, phones, and tablets turn off their screen after detecting inactivity. That way, they are not using power to illuminate their display when you are not looking at it. While 10 to 15 minutes of awake time is good for a laptop or a tablet, you might want to power down your smartphone sooner. In an Android phone, find your options at Settings/Display/Screen timeout, and change the timing accordingly.
3 Use power-saver mode
While you might not want low-power mode at all time, many new smartphones offer it in some form, enabled in Settings, that often turns the screen to black and white, darken the display, and turns off non-essential wireless features. Devices running low on battery power will sometimes switch to power-saving mode automatically with about 20% remaining power, you can handle this manually on your phone.
4 Watch out for power-hungry apps
No matter what your device, its battery will drain faster if you are using it for tasks that demand more of the system resources, such as watching videos, or playing multiplayer games. So it is a good idea to make sure that whatever you are using is well-charged or plugged into a power source. Other apps that require a lot of computing power and therefore battery power include programs that render 3D images, productivity software such as Adobe Photoshop, and sophisticated games. Multitasking such as listening to music while reading an e-book, also can contribute to faster battery drain.
5 Lock your phone
Always lock your smartphone when not in use. Many have a button on the right side. You will be still able to receive calls and texts, but you won’t accidentally turn on the phone when it is in your pocket or purse because you may hit a button or the screen. This also prevents embarrassing pocket dials.
6 Update your operating system
On all your devices, remember to download and install all updates to the operating system whenever they are available. Go to Settings/System update/Download and install. Check for the install button. By placing your finger on Download and Install, your phone will check for any updates. Most system updates and security upgrades automatically.
7 Reduce push notifications
If you can turn off push services or reduce the frequency with which your smartphones notify you of new information, such as incoming mail, game updates, real-time sports scores, or stock updates. Please check on your phone by going to Settings/Notifications, and how to reduce push notifications.
8 Limit location services
Check your smartphone settings so that any app is tracking your location only when you are using that app, not all the time. The bonus: your phone also will be gathering less information on you, and you will have more control over when it happens and for your convenience.
9 Store at room temperature
Extreme heat, cold, or dampness can prematurely drain your battery and affect its overall longevity. When you are at the beach or pool cover your phone so it is not in direct sunlight.
10 Carry a power bank
If you are using a smartphone for a longer time outdoors, with no source for recharging the battery, it is always advisable to carry a power bank.
So these are some tips for extending your battery life between the recharge.
