Friends, we have been told by these Congressmen that the first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru was the man who was instrumental in establishing institutions like the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)
Where as the fact is that one woman built the AIIMS, and Nehru took the credit for the same. AIIMS was built by Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, who was India’s first Health Minister starting from independence in 1947 till 1957.
History textbooks say “ Nehru built AIIMS”.
Which was totally false propaganda by the historians.
Jawaharlal Nehru did not built AIIMS. Rajkumari Amrit Kaur did.
Today AIIMS in Delhi exist because one woman gave land, arranged finance, fought the system and forced execution while Congress watched and later branded it took the credit.
The land they never mention.
AIIMS Delhi stands on 190 acres of prime land at Ansari Nagar. This land did not come from the Union government. It came from Rajkumari Amrit Kaur’s personal family estate.
Not acquired.
Not purchased.
Donated
At today’s rates, this land must be worth tens of thousand of crores.
Congress government did not spend a single rupee on it. As post-independence India was broke. Congress had slogans but not any resources.
So What Rajkumari Amrit Kaur did
- Secured foreign assistance (New Zealand)
- Brought international medical collaboration
- Arranged equipment, training and expertise
If congress had the capacity, foreign governments would not have been needed.
Then Congress delayed the law.
The AIIMS Act, 1956 did not pass because of Nehru’s urgency.
It passed because Rajkumari Amrit Kaur pushed relentlessly against:
- Bureaucratic inertia
- Cabinet indifference
- Congress lethargy
Files moved because she forced them to move.
What Nehru actually did, He
- Approved what was already built
- Delivered speeches
- Cut ribbons
That’s not institution building, that’s optics.
Why Congress buried her history
Because this truth destroys the myth
- That Congress ‘built’ India
- That Nehru created institutions
- That power equals contribution
AIIMS proves the opposite.
A royal woman gave up her inheritance for public health.
Congress took the credit
No chamcha even mentions and praises her.
No textbook mentions her name.
Because Congress history only remembers one surname.
Whereas reality is
AIIMS is Rajkumari Amrit Kaur’s legacy.
Congress just put its nameplate on it.
In the end the fact is “ Others sacrificed and Congress advertised”
Same way Congress historians gave the credit of building IITs to Nehru, where as the fact is Nehru did not create IITs. Dr DC Roy, CM of West Bengal ,set up first IIT in Calcutta in 1950, which was later moved to Khargpur. IIT Khargpur Act came in 1956. Soviet Union helped to set us IIT in Bombay, and USA helped to set IIT in Kanpur. Germans set up IIT in Madras (All of them with trade surplus and aid)
