In the early 2000s, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan had said in a foreword to Organisation’s  ‘Convention Against Corruption’ that  “ Corruption has a wide range of corrosive effects on the societies”. In today’s newspaper, one news item that caught my eye is a statement made by Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is the Sports and Youth affairs minister in the Tamil Nadu Government and also happens to be the son of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin. Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) Bill, will replace the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) prevailing in the country.
