A few days back, I wrote a blog on the subject of ‘Chronic Pain-Seniors’, problems faced by senior people, and possible treatment options. In response to this blog, one of my friends commented that there is one more treatment for chronic pain, and this is known as ‘OZONE THERAPY’, and he has benefited from the same. This prompted me to do further study on this therapy. Here are some facts about the same: What is Ozone Therapy Most of us think that the capabilities of Ozone (O3) were limited to the ozone layer that protects us from the sun’s UV radiation (like sunscreen for the earth), but the fact is that ozone’s therapeutic potential is very vast. Ozone, while toxic to humans and animals when inhaled, is extremely beneficial when delivered intravenously, via rectal or vaginal insufflations (absorbed by inner tissue), through the ear canal, and topically through the skin…

Banks-Post 2014
I have been reading/listening to the statements by many political leaders who claim to be experts in the economic field, and their only point of contention is the country’s in bad shape and what PM Modi has done to strengthen the economy. These are the same people who used to say the economy was in much better shape under finance/economy experts Finance Minister P Chidambaram and PM Manmohan Singh. These types of statements by some politicians are blatant lies, which in the present scenario does not mean a thing. One of the best parameters to look into the economy is the banking sector. Let us see the condition of Commercial Banks during the UPA regime, and thereafter: By the year 2008, the loans disbursed by the commercial banks stood at Rs 28 lakh Cr, by the year 2014 this figure increased to Rs 61 lakh Cr, which means this figure…
Persimmons
Friends, have you seen some orange-coloured, tomato-like fruits in the market? These are PERSIMMONS, the national fruit of Japan. These are cultivated in J&K, Himachal, Uttarakhand, and Tamil Nadu. Here, they are called Japanese fruit. However, it is now available in most parts of India and is slowly becoming popular. It has a sweet taste and appealing texture, and the orange flesh almost melts in your mouth when ripe. They have little or no seeds. There are two varieties mainly, named Hachiya and Fuyu. While the Hachiya is astringently grown in America, the Fuyu is the non-astringent variety found in Asia. So, it is just another exotic fruit, or are there any health benefits to eating Persimmon? Highly nutritious The fruit is not just tasty but is also loaded with nutrients. It contains a high amount of Vitamin A, a good amount of Vitamin C, and smaller amounts of Vitamins…

Bobby, The film
In today’s weekend blog, I am writing about a 1973 film that set the trend of teenage love stories in Bollywood. The film was produced and directed by the greatest showman of Bollywood Raj Kapoor, yes I am talking about the film called BOBBY. In the year 1970 Raj Kapoor’s magnum opus film which was like a semi-biographical film flopped miserably at the box office. A film which was more than 6 years in making, had a very big budget. But after the film flopped, Raj Kapoor was deep in debt, and most of his properties including RK Studios were mortgaged, Most of the Bollywood bigwigs had already written off Raj Kapoor. But Raj Kapoor had different ideas, just to prove his detractors that he is not finished, he started a low-budget film based on a teenage love story. New hero, new heroine, only big names in the film were…

Then and Now
People often say things were much better back then; the grass was greener, and it was so much easier to live. Feeling nostalgic is good, but present times can also be great. We live in a world of constant technological progress, which positively affects both us and nature. Here are some positive changes that happened recently or that are happening now. 1 Space tourism is closer than ever According to the forecast, the size of space tourism will reach $3 billion by 2030. A few companies are competing for the right to send tourists into orbit, and Elon Musk’s company SpaceX, is among them. Several successful trips happened in the 2000s, and until recently, space tourism was forgotten. But in 2021, new trips were planned, which means businessmen, scientists, philanthropists, and doctors will eventually fly into space. Who knows, maybe an ordinary person will be able to fly to the…
Quotes-Observations
We Indians, sometimes do not believe in the greatness of our country regarding culture, science, diplomacy, human relations, and other things, and what achievements have been done by Indians in these fields. Here are some observations made by eminent foreigners on India. 1 Albert Einstein (Famous scientist)- We are indebted to India because if India had not shown how to count, there would not be any worthwhile scientific discoveries. 2 Roma Rolon (France)- Whatever dreams mankind had seen from the ancient days, you can full fill them in India. 3 Hu Shi (Chinese Ambassador to the USA)- For ages without sending a soldier to the border, India won China’s heart with the cultural field, and impressed it. 4 Max Muller ( German Philologist)- If someone asks me, under the sky a human mind with several talents is only developed in India. In India, the analysis of life’s complex problems is…
Ancient Indian Scholars
We have been told by our historians that it was Brahmin community that denied education to other communities in the olden days of our civilization. But the same historian will never talk of what Moghuls did to Indian 500 years back or what the British did 100 years back. Whereas the fact is that we Indians were educated even 5000 years back. Most of us will be shocked to know that Maharishi Bhardwaj wrote about how to make airplanes in his book more than 1000s years back. After reading this book, in the year 1897 Shivkar Bapuji Talpade made an airplane and flew in front of the general public. This event was witnessed by then High Court judge Maha Govind Ranade, Maharaja Gaikwad, and thousands of people. After this, one company called Delly Brothers made an agreement with Talpade to make airplanes, but Shivkar Talpade died in mysterious circumstances. Afterward,…
