It has been 154 years since the famous TATA GROUP was founded in the year 1968. Over these years, the group has diversified into various fields- steel, IT, infrastructure, auto, consumer and retail, financial services, aerospace, defence, tourism and travel, telecom and media, and trading and investment. And in its 154 years of history, only seven people have had the privilege to head the group in different periods. Here is the list of people who have headed the Tata Group: 1 Jamsetji Tata (1868-1904)- Born on 3rd March 1839 in Navsari, he was the one who founded the Tata Group in 1868 as a textile mill in central India, at the age of 29. IPL Facts

In this weekend’s blog, I am back on India’s favourite sport, ie Cricket. As you all are aware that cricket is played in three formats- Test matches, One Day  (50 over) matches, and 20-over matches (T20). Presently T20 is the most watched format across the cricket-playing nations. T20 matches are more interesting, mainly because it is considered as batsman’s game, people throng to stadiums and watch on TV channels, as in this type of format, the main aim of the batsman is to score runs at very fast pace. In this format role of bowler is mainly to restrict the batsmen from scoring runs, and while scoring runs at the faster pace the batsman is bound to commit some mistake and bowler gets the wicket. So there is entertainment for the spectators and TV audience. As this format is entertaining, so all the cricket boards want their team to play…

Kishore Kumar

In today’s weekend blog, I am writing about some unknown facts/stories about the legendary Bollywood celebrity KISHORE KUMAR. Although he was a multi-faceted person, he gained the most popularity as a playback singer. He was an unschooled singer who had no classical training. He was truly a master of all trades-be it was his beautiful voice that could make any song alive, or his quirky antics while recording the songs were very famous. Though he is best known as one of the greatest singers, he was also a good actor. Apart from singing and acting he was a lyricist, composer, producer, director, and scriptwriter. Here are some fascinating story snippets from the eventful life of the legendary actor-singer. 1 As a child, Kishore Kumar’s voice was very shrill- As per family sources, when he was 5/6 years old he got hurt badly, and he started crying very loudly, and after…

For quite some time now SUPERFOOD happens to be much-discussed health and wellness topic, and the list keeps growing by the day. If you wondered what exactly a superfood is, you probably aren’t alone. Most people wonder about this term. If one has to be honest, it is purely a marketing term used to promote some nutrition-dense foods. No one food can be termed as THE SUPERFOOD, one that provides all the nutrition you need to sustain. However, some foods seem to be quite rich in nutrition, and help you get a good proportion of your required daily nutrition intake, termed RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance). Some foods provide the required RDA, and thus when included in the daily diet, they prove beneficial. A few elements of our common Indian diet fall into this category, for example, turmeric and garlic . Pomegranate, which is used in India for its medicinal value…

While not everyone agrees with how the rankings work, they do give us a black-and-white image of a player’s performance. Listed below are ten male players who have spent the longest time at the top with the No. 1 ranking 10 Lleyton Hewitt- He spent 80 weeks at the top, with 75 consecutive weeks at the top of the rankings. ECI Freezing Symbol

In the month of June 2022 Shiv Sena, a registered political party in Maharashtra split into two factions, and this led to the fall of the MVA government led by Udhav Thackrey of Shiv Sena (supported by NCP and Congress). As with the split in the party, the other faction led by Eknath Shinde had more than two third  MLAs of Shiv Sena, and they withdrew their support to the government led by Udhav Thackrey. After the fall out both factions claimed the party’s name and for the symbol allotted to the Shiv Sena, which is a symbol of the Bow and Arrow. After the split, Eknath Shinde formed the government with the support of the BJP and became Chief Minister (CM), and claimed that his faction is the original Shiv Sena by virtue of having the support of more than two third MLAs of the party. In the meantime,…

Proverbs 2

Continuing with the concluding part of my yesterday’s blog on English PROVERBS. Here are the balance proverbs: 26 If it is not broken, do not fix it- Do not try to improve something that already works fairly well. You will probably end up causing new problems. 27 Practice makes perfect– You have to practice a skill a lot to become good at it. 28 Too many cooks spoil the broth- When there are too many people trying to lead and give their opinions, it is confusing and leads to bad results. Jobs and projects should have one or two strong leaders. 29 Easy come, easy go- When you make money quickly, like by winning, it is easy to spend it or lose it quickly as well. 30 Do not bite the hand that feeds you– If someone is paying you or helping you out, you have to be careful not…

Proverbs

There are many PROVERBS in the English language which we use in our day-to-day life, either while speaking or while writing. I am giving below the most common proverbs which can be used in our speech: 1 Two wrongs don’t make a right– When someone has done something bad to you, trying to get revenge will make things worse. 2 The pen is mightier than the sword– Trying to convince people with ideas and words is more effective than trying to force people to do what you want. 3 When in Rome, do as the Romans– Act the way that the people around you are acting. It also comes in handy when you are travelling abroad, noticing that people do things differently than you are used to. 4 The squeaky wheel gets the grease– You can get better service if you complain about something. If you wait patiently, no one…
