Last week Govt of India announced Agneepath scheme for hiring young people in the armed forces, to be known as Agniveers, and a few days back I had written my blog on the details of this scheme. As soon as the details of the scheme were announced, without understanding the scheme the opposition parties started saying that this is no good scheme as after 4 years 75% of recruited Agniveers will be having no job with the armed forces, and at a very young age they will be once again jobless. Without understanding the scheme thousands of youngsters started staging protests in parts of Bihar, UP, Uttarakhand and Haryana and started demanding an immediate rollback of the scheme. The protests are carried out as the radical scheme to recruit the bulk of soldiers for only four years will hit the professionalism, regimental ethos, and fighting spirit of the armed forces….

Bollywood Bad Girls
We all know Bollywood and originality are not directly proportional rather they are inversely proportional. The more Bollywood-ish a film, the less original it is. In tune with B-town’s pledge to endorse stereotypes and the character you will often find cruising through several Hindi films-the ‘BAD GIRL’. She will either quickly pop in to wreak havoc on the male lead’s life or be the lost damsel in distress engulfed by the western style only to be rescued by True Love or Indian Sanskaar. Here are 10 characteristics you will find in every Bollywood ‘bad girl’ ever: 1 She drinks, and she drinks a lot– The first sign of a ‘bad girl’ in Bollywood films is that she is a wild child. She drinks, she parties, and the worst, she in unapologetic about it. Her drinking is portrayed as early onset of alcoholism. It is almost as if she drinks like…

Homeopathy And Seniors
India is perhaps one of the few countries where traditional therapies thrive as much as allopathy does. Many Indian households rely on Ayurveda, the ancient Indian therapy to treat most common disorders. We also have Homeopathy, Unani, and Naturopathy. All these are regulated by the Ministry of Ayush, Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy. Therefore, when you visit a clinic, you just need to ensure that the person is a qualified doctor as approved by this ministry guidelines. Each of these treatments is based on some clear understanding of the human body and issues therein. Hence, the treatment is almost always individualized and mostly not over-the-counter (OTC) type. HOMEOPATHY This treatment system believes that the body can cure itself. Hence, the practitioners only give the medicines to aid that cure. The system was established by Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, more than 200 years ago. Since that…
Heirs of Live in Relationship
In today’s world, there are many couples who do not marry but stay in live-in relationships. Their contention is that it is advisable to know your partner before committing to the marriage and this is only possible when you stay together. There are many couples who stay in this type of relationship for a longer time, during this period they children also. Before the live-in concept, there were many men who used to stay with the other women, although they were legally married to someone else. Here the second woman was known as keep. The problem comes when this type of relationship breaks or the man dies, there was a big problem for children born from these types of relationships to claim the share in their father’s property as the couple is/was not married legally. Yesterday Supreme Court (SC) gave a path-breaking judgment in this type of case. The judge…
Unclaimed LIC Amount
Friends, you all are aware that Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is the biggest public sector insurance company, which started about 65 years back. The fact is, it is still the most preferred life insurance company in spite of many privately-owned companies being there in the market. LIC’s much-awaited mega IPO was offered to the public about two months back and had a good response and was fully subscribed, in the price band offered in IPO. But when the insurance giant listed its share in the stock market, it turned out to be a disappointing debut for India’s biggest life insurance company, as the share was listed 8% below the price at which it was offered to the public. While this has become a concern for the investors, the details from LIC IPO documents that were filed during its IPO filing process, reveal another aspect of India’s insurance giant. The amount…
Ram Van Gaman Path
In today’s newspaper, I saw a full-page advertisement issued by Chhattisgarh Govt ‘Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit’ which took me by surprise. The ambitious project of ‘Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit’ aims to preserve memories linked to Lord Ram’s stay in Chhattisgarh during his exile from Ayodhya. The memories of Lord Rama are being revived, renovated, and beautified from Koriya to Sukma district. A total of nine places are being developed under this project, which are listed below: 1 It is believed that Lord Rama entered Chhattisgarh from SITAMARHI in Koriya district. This auspicious place is widely known as Sita’s kitchen. There is Shivling present in the middle of caves in this area. 2 Progressing further with his journey, Lord Rama left Sitamarhi and reached Kotgarh via RAMGARH hills in Surguja district. Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshman spent a few days of their exile period at this place which lead…
Visitation Rights
Friends, you must have read/heard about the husband and wife who decided to go their own way, and they either opt for staying separate or obtaining a divorce from the court. In our country getting a divorce is a very complicated affair unless it is with mutual consent. Now if the couple has no child or children, then the matter comes who will get the custody of child/children. If either mother or father gets the custody of child/children, that court gives the other spouse visiting rights, so that he/she can meet the child/children. Generally, this is decided by the court or with mutual consent, and the day and number of hours for the visit are specified. The above is all right for the children of legally married couples. Now if the child is born out of wedlock and is illegitimate as per law, could the biological father be given visitation…
Dental Health
Dental or oral health is an often neglected aspect in India. Brushing twice a day, rinsing after eating, getting regular checkups done, etc. are not as common as they should be. Most often people end up at a dentist’s place only when it is unavoidable. Also, dental treatment is expensive in India, hence, most people try to avoid it as much as possible. A simple consultation starts from Rs 500 and cleaning, extraction, root canal, caps, etc. cost much more. Dental implants are not easily affordable by most. Unless one has specifically sought insurance that covers dental treatment, the costs will easily burn a hole in your pocket. Hence, there is a reluctance to approach dental clinics. Some common dental issues Poor dental health usually leads to problems in chewing and eating, leading to nutritional issues. Some diseases and their medications can lead to less Salivary flow which also affects…
