Kashmir Tourism
Jammu & Kashmir state (now Union territory) was affected by terrorism for three decades, and the economy of the region has gone to dogs. Tourism, which is considered the backbone of J & K economy took the biggest toll due to terrorism during this time. When Central Govt removed the article 370 and Section 15 in August 2019, the hope of revival of J & K economy started taking shape. But due to the onset of Covid 19 in January 2020, the revival hopes vanished, as everyone’s interest shifted towards their own safety, hence the revival of the economy in J & K went on the slow lane. With the respite in Covid cases in the latter half of 2019, there was a turnaround in J & K tourism sector, and this led to a steady rise in tourist footfall. The surge in tourist activities was primarily driven by changing…

Safety From Scamsters
As technology advances, so do the fraudulent schemes; and scamsters are the first to find loopholes in most of these. Most Indians are well aware of calls and messages that try and scam them of their hard-earned money. Most banks, including RBI, have put ads asking people not to click links in suspicious emails and messages. They also share awareness messages requesting customers not to share OTPs or personal information, especially bank details etc. However, scamsters find ways to work around such things. Interestingly, they realize that senior citizens are most vulnerable to such things. The discomfort with technology, the reluctance to ask people when in doubt or ask for help for fear of being ridiculed etc., make them likely victims. A large-scale scamming racket was found running from a small city in Jharkhand called Jamtara, nicknamed the phishing capital of India. Many cybercrimes from across the country were traced…
