Few news items, which I found quite interesting, which I want to share with you :
- Yesterday Supreme Court came heavily on both Central and State govts regarding their inability to curb the mob violence/mob lynching etc. They said Mobocracy can not be allowed to become new normal. The SC asked the Centre and States to discharge their constitutional duty of maintaining law & order to ensure peace and protect the secular nature of the nation. Barbaric acts of mobocracy can not be allowed to continue to disturb the law of the land. The SC suggested the following measures : –States to designate officer of at least Superintendent Of Police (SP) rank as nodal office in each district to be assisted by DSP rank officer to prevent mob violence. –Special task force to gather intelligence about people likely to commit such crimes or involved in spreading fake news or hate speeches. –Nodal Officer to meet on monthly basis with district intelligence and police to identify tendencies of mob violence. –Directorate general of Police (DGP) and Home secretaries to review matter at least once in 3 months. –States to identify areas where instances of lynching and mob violence have been reported recently. Such areas to be patrolled to discourage anti social elements. –Cops to pay for their negligence, for which appropriate action can be taken. –states to draw up compensation plan for mob violence/lynching with provision for interim relief to victim or next of kin within 30 days. –Lynching cases to be tried out in fast track Court and verdict to be given within 6 months. –Centre & states to initiate strong steps to curb and stop spread of irresponsible messages/videos/chats on Social media etc. –FIR a must against person spreading such fake/irresponsible messages and videos. Lastly SC has asked Parliament to consider drafting a special law against lynching with adequate punishment to instill a sense of fear for law among the offenders of such crimes. Now let us see how fast the Parliament works on the SC directive, and show some serious considerations for this issue.
- Next item is for the Car Owners- Do you know friends that if your car is lost/stolen, and after completing all Police formalities, you lodge an insurance claim, your insurance claim can be rejected if you fail to produce 2 original car keys and give the same to insurance company. While the Insurance Regulatory Authority of India (IRDA) does not specify this and leaves to individual companies, but most of the companies follow this norm, citing cases of fake claims. This type of instance happened to one car owner recently, when his car was stolen from outside his house few months back. When after completing all Police formalities like lodging FIR etc , he submitted papers for claim through Insurance agent, then he was told by his agent that he will have to produce 2 original car keys, otherwise his claim will not be approved. The person commented that in the insurance documents there was not any terms which mentioned this point, luckily he had both the original car keys, so he was saved on this point. Additionally he was asked to get authority letter confirming he was the owner of this car although RC was in his name. Then he was asked to get the letter from Police that car is untraceable. A top Executive of General Insurance Corporation (GIC) admitted that insurance companies have failed to spread awareness about such conditions. As per him the Insurance companies also have some genuine reasons, since in many cases people made false claims submitting FIRs from local Police Stations. So insurance cos insist on both the original keys, which is taken as substantial evidence as the ownership of the vehicle. Friends, before today even I was not aware of this condition of car Insurance policy, although I am operating my personal car for last 3 decades. Were any of you aware of this condition of Car insurance?. I fail to understand why Insurance companies are not coming out openly on this condition or they are there for just making the life miserable for car owners, so that they are not liable to dole out the claim amount.
So Friends, what is your opinion on above issues.
Waiting for your comments/views/feed backs.

1. Mobocracy especially lynching should not be permitted in any case. Centre & States must ensure that there is no repetition of such incidents.
2. I have been owning & Operating a car for over ten decades but was not aware of any such conditions. Luckily I never lost a car. Once in Delhi my company car was stolen from where it was parked but the thief abandoned it when petrol was exhausted. Police promptly notified me.

Anger generated at the helm percolates down to the bottom and spreads its ugly wings. Like it or not this is what is happening today and something I have mentioned three years ago; you cannot double speak, one tone in elections and a gentler otherwise. Today the country is in a cauldron of hate…just like is happening to the US!
