India is slowly becoming a worldwide name in the consumer market, and there are many products/brands that are very popular in the world market. In today’s blog, I am writing about “Most Popular Indian Brands That Rule The World”.
1 Peter England– While the name sounds very much western, It is a homegrown brand. Over the years, this menswear brand has become a status symbol that specializes in superior quality textiles. It is owned by The Madura Fashions and Lifestyles, which is a division of The Aditya Birla group. The brand offers a wide range of premium quality shirts and formal wear that now has its stores across India as well as over 300 cities in the world.
2 Old Monk– It is an iconic brand of Dark Rum, which was launched in 1954. It is owned by Mohan Meakin, and produced in Ghaziabad (UP). Astonishingly Old Monk owes its success through word of mouth and does not spend much on marketing. It is blended and aged for a minimum of seven years, and has a distinct Vanilla flavor. It is sold and loved in many countries including Russia, USA, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Canada, and Australia.
3 Lakme- Believe it or not, Lakme was founded by JRD Tata & Simone Tata in 1952, and began as a subsidiary of Tata Oil Mills. While the name sounds French, it actually owes its origins to goddess Lakshmi. It aimed to provide affordable cosmetics and beauty products to Indian women and soon, became a global brand. In 1996 it was acquired by Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), a global player in the consumer industry.
4 Café Coffee Day– Better known as CCD, is a popular café chain that has headquarters in Bengaluru , India. It had a humble beginning in 1993 and went on to ace the Coffee business, with 1752 outlets in 243 cities across India. It has become a favourite hangout spot and working place for youngsters, with its friendly ambiance and fresh coffee that is grown in Chikmaglur, Karnataka. Internationally CCD boasts many outlets in Austria, the Czech Republic, Malaysia, Nepal & Egypt.
5 Tata Group– It was founded in 1868 by Jamshedji Tata and is one of the oldest and most well-known companies in India as well as abroad. Tata Group has its presence across multiple sectors including hotels, Chemicals, Technology, Communications, Beverages, Automobiles, Power , and steel. Tata is a household name in India and even globally, it has become a familiar brand. Being India’s largest conglomerate, Tata has its presence in more than 100 countries in 6 continents.
6 Jaguar and Land Rover– They are heavy names in the automobile industry and are counted among top luxury car brands. While the brand has headquarter in Coventry(UK), it is owned by none other than Tata Motors. Jaguar and Land Rover date back to the 1930s and have a long history of mergers and acquisitions. In 2008 they were acquired by Tata Motors from Ford and merged into one brand Jaguar Land Rover.
7 Royal Enfield– it began as a British company in 1901 with its headquarter in Worcestershire (UK). It was later acquired by Eicher Motors of Chennai. Today Royal Enfield is a coveted brand that is desired by many people across the world. It is also the oldest bike manufacturing company in the world. The bikes are now known for their iconic thumping engine sound and high-capacity engines.
8 Louis Philippe– it is another name from the textile industry that is Indian and has made its mark worldwide. This premium brand is also a subsidiary of Madura Fashions Lifestyles, a division of Aditya Birla group. It is named after a king of France from the 19th century and just like Peter England, it caters to international taste. International stars like Robert Pattinson has been an ambassador for this brand.
So these are the popular Indian brands, who are also very famous in international markets.
