The INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) 2024 concluded just two days back, and in a one-sided final Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scored an impressive victory over Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH). It was a total KKR show, and their bowlers rose to the occasion when they bowled out SRH for 113, and when they started batting the target was achieved in 10.3 overs only.
KKR won their 3rd IPL title, before the final both Hyderabad and Kolkata had won two titles each. IPL is the world’s richest cricket league; this year’s total prize on various accounts was Rs 46.5 Cr. Given below is the list of main prize money winners:
1 The winning team KKR won Rs 20 Cr for winning the title.
2 The runners up team Sun Risers Hyderabad won Rs 13 cr.
3 The third place team Rajasthan Royals (RR) were paid Rs 7 Cr.
4 The fourth place team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were paid Rs 6.5 Cr.
The amounts were also paid to the remaining 5th place to 10th place teams also.
Main Awardees:
- Virat Kohli of RCB won the Orange Cap for scoring most runs in the IPL 24. He scored 15 741 runs in 15 matches at an average of 61.75, with a century and five fifties. His best score was 113 not out and his strike rate stood at 154.69, the highest it has been for Kohli in a single IPL season. He won Rs 10 lakhs as prize money.
- Harshal Patel of Punjab Kings (PBKS) won the Purple Cap for taking most wickets in the IPL 24. He tool 24 wickets in 14 matches an an economy of 9.73 and an average of 19.87. He also won Rs 10 Lakhs as prize money.
- SRH’s Nitish Kumar Reddy was named the Emerging Player of the Season for his all round performance, and was awarded with Rs 20 Lakhs as prize money.
- Sunil Narine of KKR was named Most Valuable Player of this season of IPL, and he was awarded Rs 12 Lakhs for his efforts.

- Travis Head of SRH for hitting most fours in this season, he hit 64 fours.
- Abhishek Sharma of SRH for hitting most sixes in this season, he hit 42 sixes
- Jake Fraser-Mcgurk of Delhi Capitals (DC) for having the best strike rate in this season, he scored 3330 runs at the strike rate of 234.
- Ramandeep Singh of KKR for taking the best Catch of the season.
- SRH was awarded with Fair Play Award.
- Pitch and Ground Award was awarded to Hyderabad Cricket association.

- Sandeep Sharma of RR took 5 wickets in 4 overs while conceding only 18 runs against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Jaipur.
- Jasdeep Bumrah of MI took 5 wickets in 4 overs by conceding 21 runs against RCB at Mumbai.
- Yash Thakur of Lucknow Super Giant (LSG) took 5 wickets in 3.5 overs by conceding 30 runs against Gujarat Titans (GT) at Lucknow.
- T Natarajan or SRH took 4 wickets in 4 overs while conceding 19 runs against DC at
- TU Deshpande of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took 4 wickets in 3 overs by conceding 27 runs against SRH at Chennai.

Overall IPL 2024 was very interesting league tournaments, most of the matches were quite thrilling, but final was total letdown.
There is one more interesting fact which emerged during the finals, and that is none of the Indian players who played final match are not in the Indian team for T20 World Cup to be played next month in the USA.
