Micro Habits

Friends, we all have some habits, and sometimes, these habits rule us. Being ruled by one’s habits is not a healthy sign. But there are some habits, and if you adopt them, then your life becomes easier and simpler.

Here are some Micro Habits which can change your life:

1 Apply One-Minute Rule– If a task takes a minute or less to complete (replying message, hanging up your clothes etc) do it right away.

2 Hydrate First– Drink water before your morning tea/coffee to boost hydration and energy.

3 Deep Breath– Perform 30 seconds of deep breathing as you wait your tea/coffee to brew in the morning.

4 Include Protein in Every Meal– Add protein to every meal for better satiety and muscle growth.

5 Phone-Free Dinners– Set a rule to keep phones away from the dinner table to stay present and mindful while eating.

6 Brush with Your Offhand–  Use your non-dominant hand to brush your teeth to stimulate your brain activity.

7 Avoid Phones for the First 30 Minutes- Keep your phone away for the first half hour of the day to improve focus.

8 Embrace the Maul Habit– Start your day with a positive affirmation like “Today is going to be a great day” to shift your mindset.

9 Stand Up Every Hour– Our bodies are not meant to sit all day. Set a reminder to stand up even for few seconds each hour.

10 Gratitude Shower– While showering, reflect on who or what you are grateful for to nurture a mindset.

11 Give Compliments Daily– Share a sincere compliment to brighten someone’s day.

12 Use Blocking Apps– Set up web/social media blockers to help you focus and priortise deep work.

13 Journal a Win Every Night– Reflect on one positive thing from your day to remind yourself you are making progress.

14 More Sleep– Vowing to get more sleep? Move your bedtime up by 5 minutes, “ Five minutes you can do”.

15 Electrolytes with Water– Add electrolytes to your water to stay hydrated and reduce nighttime trips to the washroom.

16 Save Money– Saving money doesn’t need to be painful. Start with Rs 100 a day. It is more about building the habit of saving.

17 Pause Before Responding– Count to 10 before reacting to strong emotions to avoid regrettable responses.

18 Floss Regularly– Make flossing a daily habit to benefit both your dental and overall health.

19 Micro-Workout– Fit in a short workout to activate your brain and burn extra calories.

20 Monitor Your Finances- Check your bank account daily to stay aware of your earnings, spending, and savings.

21 Take the Stairs– Skip the escalator/elevator and opt for the stairs to get a mini workout and boost your daily steps.

22 Stretch for 5 Minutes– Do  a quick mobility session in the morning to prepare your body for the day ahead.

23 Drink Water Before Meals– Have a glass of water before eating to cub your appetite and prevent overeating.
