Old Age-Lifestyle Changes

Friends, everybody is going to get old.  When you have crossed 70 and are heading towards 80, you will have to adapt some changes in your thinking and lifestyle. Here are the changes which you should adopt:

1 After loving your parents,  siblings,  spouse,  children, and friends, please start loving yourself.

2 You must realise that you are not an ‘Atlas’. The world does not rest on your shoulders.

3 You should stop bargaining with vegetable & fruit vendors. A few Rupees more is not going to break you, but it might help the poor fellow to save for his child’s school fees.

4 You must give the waiter a tip. The extra money might bring a smile to his face. He is toiling much harder for a living than you are.

5 You should stop telling the other elderly that they have already told that story many times. The story makes them walk down memory lane & relive their past.

6 Please learn not to correct people even when you know they are wrong. The onus of making everyone perfect is not on you. Peace is more precious than perfection.

7 Give compliments freely & generously. Compliments are a mood enhancer not only for the recipient, but also for you. And a small tip for the recipient of a compliment, never, NEVER turn it down, just say ‘Thank You’.

8 You must learn not to bother about crease or spot on your shirt. Personality speaks louder than appearances.

9 You must walk away from people who do not value you. They might not know your worth, but you do.

10 You must remain cool when someone plays dirty to outrun you in the rat race. You are not a rat and neither you are in any rat race.

11 You start learning not be embarrassed by your emotions. It is your emotions that make you human.

12 Please learn to live each day as if it is the last. After all, it might be the last day.

13 You must learn that it is better to drop the ego than to break a relationship. Your ego will keep you aloof, whereas with relationships, you will never be alone.

14 You should do what makes you happy. You are responsible for your happiness, and you owe to yourself. Happiness is a choice. You can be happy at any time, just choose to be.

Please share this fundas with your friends also, and lastly why do we have to wait to be 60 or 70 or 80, why can’t we practice this at any stage and age.

Waiting for your feedback on this blog.
