Friends, during the last three decades, Indian business has been expanding globally. Many business groups have a presence in several countries and employ thousands of people around the world. Indian companies are competing with the best companies in the world and doing business successfully.

Here are the top five Indian Business Groups that have a Global presence:

#5 Aditya Birla Group

This group was founded by Ghanshyam Das Birla in 1919, who first started the business with one jute mill. Over the years business expanded, and the group entered in the various fields. As the family grew, the business was divided among the family members of Ghanshyam Das Birla and their off springs. Presently the Aditya Birla group has become the major Business group from the businesses handled by the off springs of  GD Birla. Aditya Birla group has presence in 36 countries, and consists of 27 companies. Ultratech Cement, Vodafone-Idea, Peter England, Louis Phillips are some of the flagship companies. The group is involved in Cement, Fashion, Retail, Textiles, Financial Services, Chemicals and many other sectors. This group has employee strength of 1.40 Lakh+.

Market Cap is Rs 5.7 Lakh Crore.

#4  Bajaj Group

This group was started by Jamuna Lal Bajaj in 1926, with a Sugar factory Hindustan Sugar Mills, which is now known as Bajaj Hindustan. The group consists of 40 companies who are involved in Automobiles, Financial Services, Home Appliances, Iron and steel, Insurance, Electronics Travel and many other sectors. Bajaj Auto is third biggest Motor Cycle manufacturing company. Bajaj group presence is in 70+ countries, and employees  strength of the group is 36,000+.

Market Cap is Rs 8.55 Lakh Crore

#3 Adani Group

This group is youngest among the top 5, the group was started by Gautam Adani in 1989. Gautam Adani started working in Diamond Industry when he was just 16 years, and he became Crorepati by the age of 30. After that he started the business of Adani Exports, and today the group is involved in various sectors and has ten companies, and employs 23,000+ people

Market Cap is Rs 11 Lakh Crore.

#2 Reliance Group

This group was started by Dhirubhai Ambani in 1958, when he started the business of Polyster Yarn trading. After that he entered in various sectors like Textiles, Chemicals, Petroleum and many more. Presently the group is headed by his eldest son Mukesh Ambani. Now group has expanded in Tetails business-Jio Retail, Telecom business- Jio mobiles and fibre network etc. The group is having presence in 100+ countries. The group employs more than 3,50,000 people.

Market Cap is Rs 17 Lakh Crore.

#1 Tata Group

This group is oldest among top 5, and was founded by Jamshedji Tata in 1868, and he built India’s first 5 start hotel in 1903 now known as the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai. India’s first steel company (Tata steel), first airlines (Tata airlines- later known as Air India), first big IT company (TCS), first Cancer Hospital. Presently the group has more than 30 business companies, and has a presence in more than 110 countries around the world. This group has donated more than 8 Lakh Crore in charity till date. The group has a employee strength of about 10 Lakh people.

Market Cap is Rs 22 Lakh Crore.
