Non Congress Governments

Friends, all non-Congress governments formed before 2014 could not remain in power for long. The reason was that the government was formed, but the entire system was filled with Congress people. Whether it was bureaucracy, judiciary, or media. After the government was formed, Congress used its full power to bring them down and destabilise them from Day one, and eventually they were dealt with. After that, either coalition governments were formed, which remained in Congress’s pocket, or Congress itself remained in power at the centre.

Whether it was Chaudhary Charan Singh after Morarji Desai, Chandrashekhar after VP Singh, or Devagowda or IK Gujaral their control was always in Congress’s hands. Congress did not allow them to run the government. Even Vajpayee’s government of 1998 lost the confidence vote because of a trick played by the Congress. Even Vajpayee’s popularity could not work until the BJP won the immediate elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

BJP lost the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, and everyone was surprised because there was no anti-incumbency atmosphere against Vajpayee. The truth is that he lost the election due to the Congress system. He was a simple man, and during his tenure, he did not pay any attention to this issue, which is not enough just to form a government, but is also necessary to take over the system.

But the situation changed after 2014, when the return of awards on grounds of intolerance came to the forefront immediately after Modi became the Prime Minister. This means that even after the new government had just come to power, they started plotting its downfall. At the same time, several judges held a press conference against the Chief Justice of the country.

Modi is not a simple man, he had already crushed the Congress’s conspiracy three times in Gujarat. He realised that if he wanted to stay in power for a long time, governance would not work. There is also a need for internal support.

What did Modi do? He sent many administrative officers away by giving them VRS. The powers of those people who were not with the government, even after a considerable amount of time since the government’s formation, have been neutralized/curtailed in all the institutions.

The result is that not only did Congress not come to power in the centre, but gradually it started losing out in the States where it was in power with its alliance.

It is natural that Rahul Gandhi has lost his mind, as there is no anti-incumbency against the BJP at the centre and in many States. The problem is not that anti-incumbency sentiment is not acting against the BJP; the problem is that after being angry with the BJP, people are not willing to consider Congress as an alternative. Otherwise, any government that becomes unpopular and people get the belief that the opposition party can form a better government, whether it is against the media, against the bureaucracy, against the judiciary or against the Election Commission, change happens. Indira Gandhi’s defeat, Rajiv Gandhi’s defeat and Manmohan Singh’s defeat are direct examples of this.

Therefore, before beating their chest over ‘vote chori’, EVM and Gyanesh Kumar, Congress should first fix its house. Bringing some new issue every two months and then not justifying the same with evidence is not going to give confidence to the people of the country to vote for Congress.
