Joshua Project

JOSHUA PROJECT

Till recently I have never heard about this project, and I am dead sure none of you also  may not heard about the same.

The bulk of missionaries that come to India to preach Christian teachings are Evangelicals, who have a reputation for spreading their version of Christianity with an aggressive zeal. {Evangelicalism is a worldwide movement within protestant Christianity  which maintains the belief that the essence of Gospel ( Christian message which describe the life and teachings of Jesus ) consists of the doctrine of salvation by grace, solely through faith in Jesus’s atonement}

For India, the Joshua Project states that there are 2,554 people groups of which 2,289 are ‘unreached’. 94.6% of the Indian population lies in the ‘unreached’ groups. The percent of professing Christians is pegged at 2.1%. The Evangelical Annual growth rate is pegged at 3.9% which is significantly above the global rate of 2.6%.

The targets of these missionaries are the unfortunate low-castes who, due to socio-economic conditions fall for their “promises.”

“The 300 million Dalits in India are considered to be less than human through the Hindu caste system…..The Dalit leadership has called the people to reject Hinduism. As Christians, we support the movement ….People have the freedom to choose. We are in solidarity with them because this is an issue of justice and of resisting oppression. As God’s people we stand with the issues of equality of justice, human dignity, identity, and the right to be treated with respect and equality. Therefore the church is involved.”

What Is The 10/40 Window

This has a reference to those regions of the eastern hemisphere, plus the European and African part of the western hemisphere, located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator. This is a general area encompassing Sahara and Northern Africa, as well as almost all of Asia (West Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, East Asia and much of Southeast Asia), whose population in 1990 had the least number of Christian adherents.

Almost two-thirds of the world’s population lives in the 10/40 Window and is predominantly Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist. Also noteworthy of the 10/40 area is the looming presence of great poverty and low quality of life.

AD 2000

During the 1990s, the prime destination these strategists had in mind was North India. According to AD2000 the reasons were:

  1. It represents forty per cent of the Indian population.
  2. The capital New Delhi is located in North India, making the region a power center.
  3. It has the smallest Christian presence in all of India.
  4. During that time, it was the most socially deprived area of India.

Subsequently, the AD2000 movement mobilized and funded several evangelical operations in Northern India. Further, it sponsored the May 17-25, 1995, Global Consultation on World Evangelization (GCOWE) in Seoul, South Korea, where nearly 4,000 Christian leaders from 186 countries, including India, gathered to draw up methods for rapid conversion

That same year also saw the movement being renamed as the Joshua Project.

In November 2012, the then UPA Government made an official provision for missionary activities. In its 18 types of visas to foreigners, India’s Ministry of External Affairs created a special category for Christian Missionaries termed “Missionary Visa.”

Item 17 of the passport office website, under visa service clearly states:

Missionary Visa: Visa to foreign missionaries, other than those holding ‘No objection to return to India Endorsements’, are granted only after clearance by concerned Ministry/ Department in India.

Some commentators during that time raised objections to this move of officially granting Visa to Christian missionaries since it goes against the core secular value of the Indian Constitution. But such commentators were branded as ‘communal’ by the nation’s self-anointed secular defenders.

As per Joshua Project –it gathers, integrates and shares people group information to encourage pioneer church-planting movements among every ethnic group and to facilitate effective coordination of mission agency efforts. Joshua Project compiles the work of numerous missions researchers to develop a list of all ethnic peoples that is as complete as possible.” Thus, it’s aimed at coordinating the work of the numerous missionary organizations that exist and provide them with a one-stop shop for information on the demographics of any group.

For India, the Joshua Project says that there are 2,554 people groups of which 2,289 are ‘unreached’. 94.6% of the Indian population lies in the ‘unreached’ groups. The percent of professing Christians is pegged at 2.1%.

Joshua project lists every ‘people group’ under the Sun and even states the estimated number of workers needed to convert the community to Christianity. It’s a very organised effort to undermine the dominant Pagan (having religious beliefs that do  not belong to any of the main world religions) faith in India. From their database it’s clear that the tribes with the most minuscule population have the highest proportion of Christians . It appears that Christian missionaries believe that for Judgement day to arrive, they must convert at least some people from every single group on the earth.

Given the infinite resources at the Vatican’s disposal and the huge resources available to other Christian denominations to evangelize and taken into consideration the Joshua Project with its extreme level of coordination, it appears that there’s an international conspiracy against Hinduism.

They have had very little success among other monotheistic ( that believes there is one god) but given the huge diversity of India, it makes it much easier for them to further their agenda. And they won’t stop until there are Christians in every group that exist today. By the time they have representation in every existing group, more groups would have popped up naturally or they might simply invent them and their conversion agenda would continue. There is no end to this cycle. And  our government needs to do something urgently to put an end to this menace and safeguard the nation from the perils of coerced conversion.

The Joshua project is also currently active along with Missionaries organisations  in the other countries of 10/40 windows as described.

The so called secular people who are agitating against Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) and National register for Citizen (NRC), have never spoken against the Missionaries activities in India.

What you say my friends.
