Wednesday Blues

There have been many interesting development in the country for last two days, and some of them I would like to share with my views.

1 RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that some incidents of violence such as lynchings were actually being branded to defame India, Hindu Society and create fear among some section of society. He further added that lynching is a foreign concept and we Indians do not follow such practice. RSS is trying to thwart such violent incidents. Such incidents have no tradition in our country, and there are efforts to malign the country by using the terms like lynching.

Now what is the meaning of Lynching or lynch some one- as per dictionary it means ‘ to kill somebody who is thought to guilty of crime, without a legal trial.’

Now will the RSS chief care to explain- in the recent past when some people were killed by group while they were presumed to be carrying/transporting Cow’s meat (Beef), agreed carrying/transporting Beef is not legal in certain parts of the country, but who gave these people right to kill a suspected person. If they were suspicious then the said person should have been handed over to police. Another time people were killed when they refused to chant the name of Lord Ram. Another example when group of wrong elements corner a army soldier/officer and kill them. These incidents can not be called incidents of violence, they are clear case of lynching.

Mohan Bhagwat also said that for  last 9 decades RSS has been working on creating Unity, Goodwill, Good Conduct and Good behaviour among their members and citizens of the country. He must also accept the fact there are some wrong elements in RSS and other RSS affiliated organisation who are taking part in the lynching happening in the country. As for  lynching/killing of innocent army officials, it can be only said that these incidents are all instigated by terrorist organisations who misguide ordinary citizen to join in lynching.

Lynching is really a bad phenomena , which is very bad if practice by any section of the society in the country.

2  Yesterday , France handed over first Rafale Jet to India, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performed the Shastra Puja of the same, on the auspicious day of Dussehra. Rajnath Singh then took a sortie in the aircraft, which has a tail number “ RB-001” to mark the role played by Indian Air Force Chief , Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, who reiterated last week that the twin engine Rafale will certainly prove to be game changers along with Russian S 400 Triumf surface to air missile system. A good beginning as Indian Air Force demanded new fighters almost two decades back, and after a bruising political dog fight over the last couple of years finally the process has started for receiving the new fighter air crafts. All the 36 Rafale air Crafts will be operational by 2022 in a phased manner.

Surprisingly there have been no comment from Congress brigade on Rafale. It seems that the issued died down  with, when they lost the general elections in May 2019, the resignation of Rahul Gandhi from Congress president ship. It looks like now that Congress had made ‘the corruption in Rafale Deal’ as  issue only for general election, when Rahul Gandhi was shouting in every meeting that there is corruption in Rafale Deal and ‘ Chowkidar Chor Hai’.

3 One more news which caught my attention was, that for Maharashtra state election there is no Senior Congress leader available for coordinating the election campaign for Congress. The senior leaders like Ashok Chavan, Balasaheb Thorat and Prthiraj Chavan are so busy in campaigning for their own seat that the interest of Congress party have taken a backseat. The All India Congress Committee has appointed Sushil Shinde as Chairman of Coordination committee, but he is busy canvassing for his daughter Praniti, who is contesting from Solapur seat.

Even in Mumbai, the city Congress President Eknath Gaikwad is busy campaigning for his daughter who is contesting from Dharavi constituency. Since there was lot of discontent within party, the central leadership decided to appoint five working presidents- Nitin Raut, Yashomati Thakur, Muzaffar Hussain, Basvaraj Patil & Vishwajeet Kadam. All of them are contesting polls and have no time for coordination. All the candidates in Maharashtra want either Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi to campaign for them, but the problem is Sonia Gandhi is having dust allergy and Rahul is not even in country. So Congress is not having any star campaigner.

It looks like Congress has already given up Maharashtra state, and even their coalition partner NCP is also sailing in same boat. Sharad Pawar’s is not in best of health, and they do not have any leader who can gather the crowd.
