So we have entered into the last month of 2019. There has been lull in the political scene of the country after the govt formation in Maharashtra. So today I am writing on a different topic altogether, and the topic is about Indian History.
Some times I wonder whether the Indian history what I learnt during my schooling days or what is being taught in even now in schools, is really the correct history of our great country. We have been also informed by various religious organisations that Indian civilisation is more than 5000 years old, but what ever history is being taught in schools after independence is about Moghul rule or British rule. It is fact that even Moghul or British never ruled over complete India, if that would have been case than at the time of partition hundreds of Princely state, which were not under control of British, would not have merged with independent India. The same was case with during the times of all the Moghul kings.
So at the time when whole world is accepting that Indian civilisation is the oldest civilisation in the world, our ancient language Sanskrit is being hailed as the most brilliant and computer savvy language, great scientists of the world have proved that there existed a bridge between India and Sri Lanka, which is known as ‘Ram Setu, as mentioned in Ramayan . But the modern India’s irony is that most of us Indian are unaware about our history. Majority of the Indians like me, have only read certain section of Indian history which was taught to us in school days. As once you enter in professional colleges the subject of history is of least importance.
So how this happened- that we Indians are kept unaware of about ancient history. The main cause is, after independence the policies adopted by earlier govts which had a more leaning towards communism and pseudo secularism propagated by Nehru. The propaganda instigated by the first few govts of independent India, and educational curriculum decided by then central govt and which is still continuing -are the main cause that even after 72 years of independence, we Indians are not aware of our great Indian cultures and history. The educational curriculum which was designed for us only revolved around Moghul and British rule. The correct course would have been that our history should have been corrected after independence, but it was not to be.
Babur, who has been credited with the king who gave the birth to Moghul dynasty in India, actually ruled certain part of northern India for only 4 years, After that his son Hamayun found it difficult to even retained the areas which were ruled by Babur. Actually Moghul dynasty was firmly established by Akbar, then handed over to Jehangir, Shahjahan and Aurangzeb, but in later part of Aurangzeb rule this dynasty started crumbling. The fact is that the Moghul were ruling the maximum part of northern India from 1556 (Akbar) to 1658 (Auranzeb), and we have been taught in history books that they ruled the country for almost 3 centuries before British took over the control of India.
That fact is that Moghul could never take over of full Mewad kingdom , although so many Rajput kings were working with Akbar. In the western region Moghuls could never win over Marathas, and luckily great Maratha king Shivaji’s and his predecessors story is well known , thanks to some Maharashtrian historians. Moghuls have no control over many kingdoms of southern India, and they hardly had any presence in eastern part of India. No other Hindu dynasty of various regions of India have found the place in Indian history when Moghuls were ruling. Vijay Nagar Dynasty ruled over southern parts of India for more than 3 centuries but they do not have any major place in history. Instead our history book taught us about the dynasty of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. Tipu was great warrior who fought valiantly with Britisher, but other wise he was tyrant ruler who forcibly converted his subjects to Islam and kidnapped Indian women and after raping them kept in the captivity.
There were many other Hindu dynasties who ruled for more than century, like Guptas ruled for 245 years, 33 Hindu kings of Andhra ruled for 500 years, Maurya dynasty ruled for more than 300 years, and there are many more. But no historian who was assigned to write school/college curriculum ever wrote about them. This was a well planned conspiracy in which Hindu Kings/warriors were thrown out of Indian history books and only fake Moghul history was taught. Maharana Pratap who through out his life could never be defeated by Akbar’s army finds a little place in history where as Akbar was mentioned as great Emperor.
Now if the govt is trying to correct the history, and these so called pseudo seculars, Congressmen and Communists says that Indian history is being saffronised, where as the fact is that history is being corrected. I do not know how many generations of Indians are deprived of knowing the correct Indian history. In the world most of the countries are proud of their history, but our country which is also known as Bharat and Hindustan, a conspiracy continued for many centuries before independence and even after independence which saw to it that not to promote any Indian history related to Hindu Kings/kingdoms. Even there are few Congressmen who openly said that Ramayana and Mahabharat are fictional stories, but they forget that in the Indian constitution there have been paintings of characters from Mahabharat , Ramayana and other Hindu Gods/Kings/scriptures.
What you say my friends.
