Self Goal

I think Congress is becoming expert in scoring self goal. Two incidents happened during this week which showed Congress in poor light and which may impact their prospect in Gujarat poll, the first phase of which is starting from tomorrow.

First instance was when Kapil Sibal appearing for Waqf Board in Babri Masjid/Ram Temple dispute case in Supreme Court, where he appealed before the SC bench that the hearing for this case to deferred till July 2018 after the next general elections, the intention of Ex Cabinet Minister Kapil Sibal of Congress was if the verdict goes in favour of hindutava brigade then in that case BJP and PM Modi will derive undue benefits in the elections. The move was criticised by BJP and other parties and Congress spoke person in the end had to comment that there was no directive from Congress party on this issue, and Kapil Sibal appeared as Counsel to Waqf Board in his personal capacity. But by that time damaged has already been done and to top it even SC threw his appeal.

Second instance happened yesterday when Ex cabinet Minister Congressman Mani Shankar Aiyar called PM Modia ” Neech Kism ka Aadmi”. This immediate;y backfired on him, as PM Modi and BJP leaders started blaming Congressmen for using foul language against Modi and even certain Congressmen were also appalled by the language used by Aiyar. There were demands from all quarters that the congress party should take action against Aiyar and it so happened to save their face Congress high command suspended him from the primary membership of the party.

Just before last General Elections, in Jan 2014 the same Mani Shankar Aiyar had made a statement” that a person selling Chai (tea) can not become PM of the country”. This was direct reference to Modi who in younger days was selling Chai at railway platform. You all are aware what happened in 2014, BJP/NDA won the majority seats in Parliament and Modi became PM. On the day when elections results were announced and Congress were left with just 44 seats.

Even in 2007 Gujarat assembly elections, Sonia Gandhi while campaigning had called Modi ” Maut Ka Saudagar ( Merchant of Death) and what happened that time Modi came back to power with more assembly seats.

In the past so many other Congress leaders have used words/phrases like Yamraj, Ravan, Gandi Naali Ka Keeda, Bhasmasur, Monkey etc etc.

In the end it is a Congress mind set that only member from elite family can become PM, and they can not digest that the poor man’s son Modi has become the PM of the country and has gained so much popularity in the world that the past Congress PM look dwarf in front of Modi in the world scenario.

One thing more all the time Congressmen keep on harping that it was their party who was instrumental in getting freedom for the country. I wish to remind all these Congressmen that the Congress which got freedom for us died the same day when Indira Gandhi proclaimed Emergency, and after that the Congress Party became her personal party and after her death, her descendants are claiming that it is their birth right to rule the country. Congressmen please awake from your deep slumber and start realising that countrymen are all well informed and we are in 21st century and you can not fool us by talking on communal and caste lines, citizens are only interested about their welfare and progress and do not want to live on the crumbs thrown by ruling party.
