And  any guesses for top position, yes it has to be

#1 Sholay (1975) – Ramesh Sippy directed film, Rs 2691 Cr.

You will observe from the above list,  in the top 10 highest world wide grosser films , there are only 2 films from the current decade, which only proves that the films released in Pre Multiplex era did more  business than the Post Multiplex era. Even 1943 released film ‘Kismet’ is at #13 and 1944 released film ‘Ratan’ is at #14.   It only means that the record of Sholay  will remain unbeaten for years to come. As #2 Dangal had the more than 60% gross business in China only, and #3 Bahubali got this gross business due to it being dubbed in many Indian languages.

As per the list , Raj Kapoor becomes the biggest commercial director of the Indian cinema, as his 4 films found  the place in top 50 highest grosser films, and from that there are 2 of his films are in top 10.

You know what was the biggest surprise of  this list- it was a small budget film starring Mithun Chakravorty ‘Disco Dancer’ at #6.
