Weekend

On this weekend, I am still with Bollywood  lyricists. Today I am writing about the most successful lyricist of Hindi film songs, he started his career in 1958 during the golden era of Hindi film music, but he continued on writing Hindi film songs even at the turn of new millennium till he expired in 2002 at the age of 72. He is none other than ANAND BAKSHI, the most popular lyricist of Hindi film industry. His first song came in 1958 in in 1958 film called Bhala Aadmi, and his first song was ‘Dharti Ke Laal Na Kar Itna Malaal’, but he achieved his first major success in 1962 with film called ‘Mehndi Lage Mere Haath’ with music composer duo Kalyanji Anandji. It was in year 1965 that he cemented his place in Bollywood as lyricist with films like ‘Himalaya Ki God Mein’ and ‘Jab Jab Phool Khile’ , both these films were again with Kalyanji Anandji. He worked with almost all the music directors of his era, but he worked most with Laxmikant Pyarelal, together they worked in 302 films, then they worked with RD Burman in 99 films, with Kalyanji Anandji in 32 films, with Anu Malik in 26 films.
