With Coronoa Virus COVID 19 remaining in the news throughout last week, there not much happening in world which is being reported. It seems that  whole world is discussing this virus. The only political happening in India was during last week was resignation of 22 MLAs of Congress party from the MP assembly, thus throwing ministry headed by Kamalnath into a minority govt. Governor has requested CM Kamalnath to move the confidence motion at the beginning of Budget session of assembly which starts today.

So today I am writing on a general topic concerning health:

Friends, we all know the water is very essential for our body, and its consumption is very critical for our body and its organ to keep on functioning smoothly. As we start going older the need for drinking water also changes drastically, experts say that older people should drink more water to reap the full benefits, to reduce fatigue and potentially enhance the benefits of regular exercise.

The issues  that dehydration can cause are many like headaches, memory troubles, kidney stones and even blood clots. Elderly people need to stay more hydrated than younger people, to avoid diseases like heart disease, asthama, hypertension and even arthritis related pain. In ladies, drinking less water can also aid urinary tract infections.

Actually the water that we drink acts as a lubricant, as well as coolant, and even a transport agent in our body. It regulates body temperature, helping in removing toxins from the body and helps carry nutrients  and other essential across our body. It is said that after waking up if you drink water it  keeps our body detoxified, and ensures that body functions properly, and it also keep constipation issues away. One could start with one glass and try to increase it slowly. Please note that if you have any medical conditions, and doctor has advised you to restrict your water and fluid indicate, then please follow the doctor’s instruction.

It is a proven fact that not drinking enough water can lead to issues, specially in elderly people. So how much water consumption is suitable for elders? As per Experts, the recommended quantity for elder person is 1.7 to 2 litres of fluid in 24  hours. This also depends upon climate and situations, medical conditions, and medications etc. People are free to drink more water.

The general physical symptoms that will indicate dehydration in the body are— Dark coloured urine (more yellowish than usual), General Weakness, Dry mouth, Dizziness, Faster heart beats, Low blood pressure, infrequent urination etc.

The presence of these symptoms indicate dehydration, which also can be may be due to other medical factor. But generally having symptoms of many of these factors is sure shot indication that your body is getting dehydrated.. If severe dehydration happens that there is no choice for the person to get himself medically treated.

Experts recommend that person should take glass of water or some other fluid like juice, at regular interval. One may also drink some thing like lemon juice, jal jeera, buttermilk etc. If one is ready to drink more fluid in one go, then he/she may take  the same in small quantities frequently throughout the day to make up for the same. It may be the good idea to measure the quantity to keep the track until a person get used to the schedule. There are apps nowadays which can remind about the time for drinking water at schedule intervals.

So friends, water is very much essential for a normal person to stay alive and do the normal day to day functions. In a tropical country like ours it is highly advised to drink more water than what the experts say, because it is not going to harm your body, and it is always better to keep oneself hydrated rather than dehydrated.

Awaiting your comments/views/feed backs.
