Ayodhya Temple

You all are aware that Babri Masjid Ram Janam Bhoomi temple at Ayodhya dispute is going on for decades, and few years back Allahabad high Court passed a judgement , where they accepted that the disputed site is actually a birth place of lord Rama and they allocated 1/3rd of the area for temple construction, 1/3rd area to a Akhada who laid the claim on the site and balance 1/3rd to Muslim Waqf board. Majority of Hindus organisation accepted the HC verdict, but Muslim organisations were not happy with the decision and decided to appeal against the decision to Supreme Court. The new developments after the HC decisions are

1. Now the central govt is under BJP and and they also rule most of the states either alone or with coalition partners.

2. Even in the state of UP, where Ayodhya is situated, the state is ruled by BJP and they are ready for temple construction and are waiting for SC’s verdict.

3. Initially the Muslim/Hindu organisations were pressing the SC to fast track this case, so the verdict is not delayed un necessarily.

4. SC announced that they are considering to hear this case on day to day basis.

5. But yesterday, when first hearing of the case started in SC , surprisingly the counsel for Wakf board Kapil Sibal came up with the request that the case should be taken up for hearing after 2019 General Elections. His contention was that BJP in their 2014 Election manifesto has promised to built Ram Temple at Ayodhya, so by delaying the hearing to July 2018, we will know the fate of Modi Govt at centre. The three judges bench, which included Chief Justice, did not buy his argument and announced that that SC will start hearing of this case from Feb 8, 2018.

6. The BJP President Amit Shah made a statement outside court that this shows the hollowness and double standards of Congress Party. One one hand the Congress is opposing construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, as Congressman Kapil Sibal is the counsel for waqf board , and on other side their would be Party President Rahul Gandhi is visiting all the temples in Gujarat during election campaign. BJP President Amit shah and other party leaders have started asking openly that Rahul Gandhi should make a statement about his and Party’s stand on Ram Temple issue.

7. I, for sure, know that Congress party will never make any statement in favour of Ram temple construction, because they do to want to loose Muslim support, but in Gujarat they have ditched Muslims as none of their leaders are addressing Muslims vote banks. Congress is adopting soft hindutva approach, and also they are taking support of Paatidar leader Hardik Patel and other OBC leaders. Where as BJP is talking about development for all. There is one saying in Hindi, which fits Congress Party’s strategy in Gujarat, which is “” Kauva Chala Hans Ki Chaal Aur Apni Chaal Bhi Bhoola””.

So what you say my friends.

Awaiting for your feed backs and comments.

Constructing the temple and belonging to the Hindu faith are two different issues. A newspaper I have a column in is in Nagpur which is the headquarters of the RSS and requested me many years ago not to allow my religion to interfere with my political views. I realised that it’s possible and the same holds for the temple construction at Ayodhya. Not whether I’m a Hindu, but is it fair?

I think all should have accepted H. C. verdict. It is ironical that Kapil Sibal is counsel for waquf board and Ranul is visiting various temples in Gujarat.
