Indian Polity

During past months the Indian Polity is revolving around  Narendra Modi & Amit Shah combine. Their combination at the moment is incredible, just compare this with the combination of Manmohan Singh & Sonia Gandhi, where Party President Sonia Gandhi was only giving orders to PM Manmohan Singh but in the case of Modi & Shah they work in tandem and they are supplementing each other and working for a common cause. Narendra Modi being PM is always remain in front of public eye and Amit Shah being a strategist and master planner work from behind the scenes.

Some of the few instances in recent past where their strategy has worked brilliantly:

1. When the UP assembly elections results were out , all other parties were shocked as  BJP  won with thumping majority, and parties like BSP, Congress and SP started saying that how it is possible that BJP has won seats in Muslim dominant areas, and they started blaming even Electronic Voting Machines(EVM). But the reality was that the Muslim women en mass voted for BJP, as BJP in their manifesto has promised that they will work for banning the instant triple talaq. Muslim women organisation were fighting for this issue for last so many years. Yesterday SC also banned the instant triple talaq and made it as a criminal offence. There will not be any surprise that if Muslim women in  coming Gujarat assembly elections  also vote en mass for BJP, as while campaigning BJP is going to exploit this judgement.
2. After UP elections BJP won Delhi Municipal elections where AAP was routed. Similarly in Mumbai Municipal elections where BJP 1st time fought independently(earlier they were in alliance with Shiv Sena as their junior partner) and won 82 seats against 84 of Shiv Sena. They also won many other municipal corporations in Maharashtra and showed that Congress and NCP are spent force. During last week BJP won absolute majority in the Municipal Elections of Mira Road- Bhyander belt out side Mumbai, where Shiv Sena was distant second and Congress got 3rd position, and NCP  did not win any seat. These elections have also shown the mirror to Shiv Sena, as they felt that Mumbai and nearby outside Mumbai areas are their strong hold.
3. Bihar- as soon as Nitish Kumar broke with Laloo’s RJD and Congress , and came out from their Maha Ghat Bandhan and resigned as CM of Bihar, Modi/Shah without wasting any time offered BJP’s suuport to Nitish Kumar, who became CM again within 24 hours after submitting his resignation. This move gave a great set back to Congress’s effort of uniting opposition parties against BJP for next general elections, earlier there was indication that Nitish Kumar might be PM candidate of opposition parties. This plan of Congress and Laloo Prasad has failed and now they have to look out for new strategy.  Nitish Kumar with his party has become part of NDA.
4. Bengal- In recent Kolkata Municipal elections  where TMC won handsomely and BJP came distant second but Congress and Communist Party failed to even open their account. So slowly BJP is gaining grounds in Bengal.
5. Tamilnadu- When after Jayalalitha’s death , her associate Sasikala broke Anna DMK party and wanted to become CM but was restrained as she was sentenced to jail in some earlier case, she before going to jail appointed her protege  EP Palaniswami as CM. It has been reported in certain sections of media that it was Modi/Shah, who made an effort to join both the factions of Anna DMK and in the end their effort resulted in merger of both the factions of Anna DMK. This effort of them may lead to Anna DMK becoming part of NDA in near future.

So from the above instances you will observe that how well Modi/Shah combination is working, and presently they  have become master planner and strategists and no one in this country can match them. If Congress want to challenge them as the main opposition party, the first they will have to change their complete strategy and first thing they have to replace Rahul Gandhi as their leader with some able and proficient leader. Now suppose they find a leader capable of replacing  Rahul Gandhi, will Sonia Gandhi will allow this to happen or love for son will bring the doom of her and Congress party as love for his son Duryodhan brought the downfall of Dhritrashtra and Kauravas in Mahabharat.
