Mamta

For last few days Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee is making irresponsible statements against state governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, like he is a stooge of Modi. It has so happened that when the state is under communal tension there is war of words between CM and governor of state. It is known fact that the situation is created in Bengal where Trinamool Congress (TMC) and BJP are locked in fierce political battle and no opportunity is spared by either party to score points over each other. Whether it is a situation in Gorkhaland and civic body elections, there is always a fight between these parties, as Communists & Congress  are spent force in Bengal and BJP is emerging as creditable opposition party.

Presently state of Bengal is sitting on communal bomb , where smallest of incident takes the shape of communal tension. Look into few incidents which happened recently.

  1. It is a known fact Mamta, like Congress and SP, always favour Muslim community.
  2. During last year communal riots irrupted in Malda, where for 3 days Hindus were lynched by Islamic fundamentalist and the state govt turned a blind eye over the incidents. Shockingly the pseudo secular media never reported these incidents of violence, and the neutral media was not allowed to enter the township of Malda. And Mamta used to always say that Gujrat communal violence of 2002 was not controlled by Modi in proper manner and he allowed Hindus to lynch Muslims, but no one pointed fingers towards Mamta when reversed happened in Bengal. This is hypocrisy at  the highest level.
  3. Last week a  school student posted a objectionable post on social media, on that basis communal tension flared up in Basirhat town of Baduria district in Bengal. Initial report suggested that the administration failed in its duty to control the situation.
  4. It seems that both Hindus and Muslims have taken the state govt for granted-for first 3 days the govt did not act against the violence instigated by Muslims arsonist. The next 2 days were spent in verbal battle between CM and Governor. The govt never bothered to call the army and they kept on saying that they do not need armed forces to control communal riots.
  5. On the contrary State govt informed Central Home Minister that they need armed forces in Darjeeling to control Gorkhaland agitation.
  6. It has so happened that now Mamta govt can not control the fundamentalists, who were earlier pampered by them.
  7. Now BJP wants to send the team of Central Party members to Basirhat town to assess the exact situation, I am certain that Mamta  govt will not give the permission to this team to visit the affected area.

The verbal spat between BJP and Mamta’s party TMC will keep on continuing. One fact which Mamta is finding it difficult to swallow that how BJP is getting so much popularity in interiors and cities of Bengal where they were not heard of few years back. Mamta’s ego has been hurt as she thought she has become so great that no one touch her as Communists and  Congress are finished in the state. But she forgets, even Sonia’s Congress thought they have become invincible, but in 2014 Lok Sabha elections they were shown the reality. She should also think that due to failure of her govt to protect Hindu population which is about 70% in State, naturally this class of people have to turn to opposition party, which by default is BJP  now. So if Mamta keeps on supporting and protecting 27% of Muslim population of state, then in the next state assembly elections you can hope for some reversals of fortune. She should also realise that her anti Modi stand is not going to help her in long run, as he has become such a popular leader nationally, she should ask Mulayam, Akhilesh of SP and Congress leaders, and Laloo is also feeling jittery. Only sensible leaders are Nitish Kumar and Navin Patnaik who keeps themselves away now from anti Modi plank and they think only for the welfare of their states.

What you say my friends

Awaiting for your feed backs and comments.

The post of governor is an archaic, redundant post, a leftover of the old gov-gen post of the British Raj, which is not just a drain on our economy but a drain on the functioning of an elected state govt.

Bobby – spat between Mamta and Governor was part of my post. I totally agree with your point of view. What about your views on Mamta’s functioning.
