Monday News

For last few days the media has bombarded us with the news of Kathua and Unnao rape cases, and before that it was stalemate in Parliament, as if there are no other things happening in the country. You open any TV news channel , the topic of discussion is these two rape cases and involvement of politicians in both the cases. Agreed that rape is a very serious offence and the  rapists, whoever may be deserves maximum punishment prescribed by the law. Secondly our law relating to rape and specially rape of girl child should need to be changed, but do our opposition parties have time to discuss the same in the Parliament, I wont be surprised if the next session of Parliament is stalled on this issue by the combined opposition. Now in these type of scenario how can we expect  the govt to come up with new draft law for even discussion in the Parliament. Presently the opposition has only one work  in their agenda and that is how to disrupt the parliament and abuse govt  headed by Narendra Modi.

I have one grouse against the media, and specially visual media, on the serious issue of rape- has any channel ever discussed the causes for the rapes happening all over the country and involvement of these bloody politicians in these cases. Some of  these channels  have only job and that is to shout at their top of voice and speak against govt, have they ever realised that they are called fourth pillar of democracy, and what have they done to keep the democracy in healthy form, on the contrary they all are doing the jobs of destroying democracy.

As per my personal opinion even after the independence  and our constitution being adopted so many decades back, but our politicians’ mind set is still blocked and they are still living in old Zamindari way with the concept of Provider and Acceptor or Master and Servant . These politicians think they have become master  and rest  of the public are their slaves. Additionally these caste system in our society has also added fuel to the fire and the rich & poor class is another issue which is also one major mental block. These politicians think they can do any thing and get away with it, because law enforcing agencies will listen to them and support them. You have seen this in the above two cases, in one case a MLA has been accused as rapist and in other case the politicians( 2 MLAs) came out openly in support of rapists, but as the issue got fire balled in both the cases politicians had to eat humble pie. The accused rapist MLAs in  custody after the HC ordered CBI to arrest him  and in other case the MLAs had to resign after being directed by their party.

But still the point remains, what have  to be done the curb this menace in the society. First and foremost thing that there should be strong punishment, and all the rape cases should be on the fast track courts and the judgement should come within max six months. There should be even death sentence for raping small girls and even teenage minor girls. Presently the cases take years to handle  and by the victim also loses interest in pursuing case because she has to move on, and in most of the cases the accused gets a bail and leads a normal life and even gets married.

Secondly in the present world when porn is available on finger tips, it is very easy for youth to get affected by these porn sites and which give rise to feeling of being starved of sex, and the result is he looks for the easy victims which results in rape. One of the solution can be, according to my personal opinion, is legalising the prostitution in the country, when easy access to sex is available it may happen that number of rape cases will be reduced. But these law makers still have their eyes blinded in case of  prostitution in the country, when every citizen knows that there are red light areas in all the cities in the country. It is known fact that  where ever prostitution is legalised, in that country the cases of rapes are less. Because there the  Prostitutes are medically examined and are certified as disease free, and they are educated about having the protected sex and people visit them  to satisfy their sex drive. In absence of  prostitution not being legalised in the country, people are afraid to visit red light area in the fear on infecting with the  diseases. But in our country is no politicians  are talking about legalising this profession, because who knows the people involved in running this prostitution business may be funding some of the politicians.

What you say my friends.
