Negativity

Friends, if you have noticed there is too much negativity against present govt in the social media and other media, and this started in a big way just before the Gujarat state elections. In my opinion the political scenario took a 180 degree turn when NDA govt led by Narendra Modi of BJP ( who got majority of their own also in Loksabha) came to power at centre. The certain class of people and political parties got the biggest jolt of their life and they were not ready for the change in the way the new  govt started functioning. From the day this govt took oath the negative campaign against this govt started and for almost last 4 years this is continuing, I do not want to go into details , but would like to mention few things

  1. Lyeuten’s media and people associated with them could not digest that Congress got reduced to 44 seats in Loksabha, and all these people were afraid that new govt will open fresh cases of corruption, for the deals happened in UPA regime and they might be part of that investigations.
  2. Media and Congress party people before elections started telling Muslim community that BJP govt will be bad for them and they will be persecuted. Nothing of this sort has happened really, and Modi govt’s mantra has always been Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and he says his policy will not be discriminatory based on religion. But Congress always harp on 2002 riots in Gujarat. Everyone ignores one fact that after 2002 not a single communal riot took place in Gujarat, and from 2002 to 2017 how many people have lost lives in UP due to communal riots, no one talks because the figure may cross few thousands. What about communal riots in Bengal during in Mamta’s rule, no one will give news.Press/media is gagged there.
  3. How much negativity was spread about Demonitisation and GST and what was the out come,  BJP won all the major state elections after these. All the world financial credit agencies hailed these moves of govt but in our country’s social media is still harping on these matters as if govt has committed a big sin.
  4. I do not understand how can Congress party speak against GST, as  discussions on GST was started during their last regime in Parliament and during this regime also they and other parties were part of Parliamentary panel which finalised all the terms of GST. Now why this negativity ?
  5. Why no press/media is talking about the good things which this govt has done like-how many Jan Dhan yojana account for BPL people this govt has opened(which is more than 3 crores) where the benefits of any govt scheme are passed on them directly; how many villages have been electrified in last 3 years( the figure is almost 10 times done by UPA in 10 years); Road Construction- the figure is almost 3 times of what UPA govt did in 10 years; Solar Power generation till 2014 was 2600 MW and now it has touched 10,000MW; Optical fibre reach till 2014 was in 59 Gram Panchayats and now it has reached 90,000 Panchayats; almost 3 crores tax payers are added after demonitisation. In today’s newspaper I read an article which says that in Maharashtra Tax collection went up by 29% after introduction of GST and they say GST is a flop.
  6. Congress ruled govt starting from Nehru( almost 17 years), Lal Bahadur Shastri (1.5 years), Indira Gandhi ( almost 16 years), Rajiv Gandhi (5 years) Narsimha Rao (5 years) and Manmohan Singh(10 years) that means total of 54.5 years. Now if their rule of these many years did not bring Achche din in the country then how can they expect Modi rule of less than 4 years can definitely bring Achche din,  just because Modi gave this slogan that his govt will bring Achche din. This is totally unfair to Modi, has any one asked before Congress people whatever promises they made during election campaigning, have they fulfilled it.
  7. Why no one is talking about Modi govt’s foreign policy- Today Modi is one of the top three leaders of the world  and World’s biggest economies like China, UK, USA are talking about India’s financial growth and are getting jittery about the same. The last lame duck PM, when he used to go abroad you all know what kind of reception he got and what he spoke was evoke no response from the world leaders, and today when Modi speaks world listen.  Congress and other parties are planning to replace this PM with their leader like Rahul Gandhi, who is not even 5% of what is Modi’s caliber.
  8. Recently one funny incident happened- when some Rajput outfit was agitating against  the Hindi film Padmavati(now called Padmavaat), there was huge cry in some press and social media asking why Modi is silent on Padmavati issue. Friends I do not think Padmavati issue was of  not a big issue of national importance, where PM Modi had to give any statement. it was a question of a film which was certified by Censor for release and as said by Supreme court it was the duty of state govts to see that it is released without any disturbances. People and specially media is forgetting that few years back we had a silent PM who hardly spoke and now people expect that this PM should give statement on each and every matter either in Parliament or in public. What a hypocrisy.

I agree that Congress is after all a political party which will always speak negatively of govt’s action and policies, but press  which is one of the four pillar of democracy should play its role fair and square, but to expect this from majority of the media is like asking for the moon because over last so many decades these media people have lived on the freebies provided by the earlier Congress govts and they are finding it difficult to highlights the  work done by the govt headed by their past masters’ opponent.

I do not say that this govt is Dhoodh Ki Dhuli, but it is much much better than previous govt because there are no scams like previous UPA govt which were up to the tune of Rs lakhs of crores.  Definitely a point to ponder.

It is true that negativity is spread not only by opposition but media.
We should look at government performance critically but with no bias.

He also named the big spinoff of demonitisation — a fresh focus on cashless transactions that was expected to weed out corruption and black money. Since November 2016, when demonitisation was announced, a “digital payment revolution has been happening in India,” the Prime Minister said.
