Thursday News

Last 2 days have been very dull regarding news, it looks like that opposition parties have finished their ammunition stocks for attacking  the NDA govt and unless they get some new one , so  they can plan to de stabalise the govt/nation on religion/caste basis which is their prime agenda. Still few interesting news items

  1. In the SC yesterday, the hearing started on the petition challenging the legality of Aadhaar card. The counsel for petitioners contended that fundamental and basic rights of citizens will be compromised, once Aadhar is made compulsory. I agree that personal data on Aadhaar can be misused by govt/service provider etc, but in every country you have you national identity card/social security number etc, I have never  heard a citizen of any developed/under developed country that information stored in their ID card is mis used. Can these petitioner tell without Aadhaar being linked with their bank account how the poor people would have got govt the assistance/subsidy in their account directly. Agreed that there will be some lacunae in any newly developed system, instead of rejecting the same, we should all come together and solve the issue. But in our political system opposition is there for only opposing any action of the govt whether it is good or bad for countrymen. Mind it, the Aadhaar scheme was launched by the UPA govt and linking of Bank account with Aadhaar card was started by Income Tax dept during UPA days only, but no one took it seriously, and it was taken seriously only after NDA govt insisted, and said otherwise bank account will be seized.
  2. Yesterday I had written that Producers of Padmavat filed a petition in SC regarding four states banning the film before release although it has been cleared and certified by Censors. Today SC gave the judgement that the there can not be any ban in any state  and they have instructed all the state govts to provide security to all the cinema halls where this film is being released.
  3. So India lost  2nd test and series with South Africa. Our so called world class batting crumbled like nine pins, except for Pandya in 1st innings of first test & Virat Kohli in 1st innings of second test, no other batsman made a worthy contribution.A batsman, who earlier had a best overseas average, Ajinkya Rahane was cooling his heels in the dressing Room, because he does not fit in the scheme of Captain and Coach. Full marks to our bowlers, who performed exceptionally well, in 4 innings of two test matches they bowled out every time the opposing team is really a credit worthy. Before departure to SA, every body was of the opinion that our batting line up is very strong but it is our bowling which may let us down, but opposite happened and it is our batting which was very much below average. So Mr Coach , for overseas tours the problem still persists, some times it is bowling other time it is our batting, and unless some drastic measures are not taken, our team will remain lion only in Asian conditions.

What you have to say, my friends.

Awaiting your feed backs and comments.
