What does the defeat of Congress in 3 North Eastern states indicate? In my opinion it only indicates that Congress is still living in the past and in fool’s paradise, thinking they are still pan India party and they have great leaders who can guide them to victory in all the state and general elections. In reality the fact is that their leadership is devoid of any fresh ideas and they are still believing in religion/caste/reservation politics. One side their leadership talks of present NDA govt, as promised by them, is not doing anything to curb the corruption in high places. As and when the NDA govt file a case of corruption against any leader of Congress or any other political party, the congressmen shout from the rooftop that govt is indulging in political vendetta. Classical examples are National Herald case against Rahul & Sonia Gandhi, Karti Chidambaram case, Robert Vadra case etc etc.
So where is Congress is party ruling now- presently they have only Karnataka and Punjab states with them, it is well known fact that Congress won last election in Punjab because of local leadership of Capt Amrinder Singh, who ensured that there is least presence of Gandhi family during campaigning. As per the indications available Congress is not sure to retain Karnataka, where elections are due in next 2 months. Although they lost Gujarat elections, but they were thinking party is in resurgent mode as they won few more seats than last time. They thought by aligning with Caste based leaders they have been benefited, and this type of strategy will work in future also.
The real problem with Congress and all other parties is that none of them have leaders like Modi, and strategist like Amit Shah. If you talk of Congress, forget their leadership at centre level, they do not have any leadership worth mentioning even at state level barring few leaders at 2/3 states.
What is Congress’s top leadership- Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. It is well known fact that Sonia by default entered politics, but being a shrewd lady she really understood the Indian Politics in very short time. She must have realised that all the leaders in Congress are spineless and they rally around her for their own benefits, as she controls the purse string of Congress. In no time after taking over the rein of Congress Party she started dreaming of becoming PM.
What happened in 2004 is known to everyone, and how Manmohan Singh became PM. Although she tried very hard to become national leader but the language barrier and her advisers let her down badly in 2014. Rahul Gandhi was inducted into politics by Sonia in 2004, when he became member of parliament but in fist first stint as MP he hardly spoke in parliament and his contribution in proceedings was zero. In his 2nd stint as MP he spoke in parliament few times and suddenly in 2013 he was being projected as next PM of the country. In their (mother & son) leadership, Congress suffered their worst debacle in 2014, when NDA led by BJP’s Modi came to power at centre.
Other Congress leaders who are in the central leadership of Congress have no following in their own state from where they represent, just to name few Kapil Sibal, Manu Sanghavi, Digvijay Singh, Anand Sharma, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Manish Tiwari, Surjewala, Renuka Choudhari, Manmohan Singh, Ahmed Patel and many more. After reading their names you will realise the status of Congress’s central leadership. From the Congress leaders who are involved more in state politics, I can think of only 2 names- Jyotiraditya Scindia from MP and Sachin Pilot from Rajasthan worth mentioning, other than 2 CMs of Punjab and Karnataka. The problem lies in the Congress party itself, because from the time of Indira Gandhi , the Congress Party forgot the federal structure of the country ie there is Central Govt and there are State Govts and function of both are different. But Congress started the system of destroying state leadership and even their CM after the state elections used to be nominated from Centre and thus many state leaders started deserting Congress, and friends if you keenly observe most of the regional parties in the country are off shoot of Congress Party in that particular state, and many regional party became successful and even ruled the state.
So matter has reached such a stage that neither Congress Party has neither capable leaders at Central level nor at State level, and they think that Rahul Gandhi will steer their sinking boat and win the next general elections in 2019. They should realise India is living now in digital era and the citizens do not want to hear about politics based on Caste, religion and reservations, as citizens want to know about your program of development and progress. Congress should also realise that era of handing freebies is not going to remain now, when in the name of freebies their leaders and middlemen were filling their own coffers.
In one way , I appreciate BJP’s Political structure as in their Party States are independently handled by their CMs without any interference from the central leadership other than in policy matters and all their CMs have their big base in state level with huge following. A state leader like Narendra Modi became PM and now he has been accepted as Pan India leader. A party (BJP) which was founded in 1980 and who had just 2 seats in Parliament in 1984 led a colitian govt from 1998 to 2004, and then won the majority of their own in 2014 election but still retained their NDA alliance. While Congress which won 400+ seats in Parliament in 1984 was reduced to 44 seats in 2014. See the difference between 2 parties in the same period of 3 decades. But Congress never analysed the writing on the wall why this decline and still they are living in their world that it is the right of Nehru/Gandhi family to rule the country.
In the end my submission to Congress will be , please come out of your fantasy world and face the reality. The right thinking citizen knows that for democracy to survive we should have at least 2 Pan India parties, otherwise one party rule may destroy the country and at presently Congress for name sake only is Pan India party.
What you say my friends.

I think Jyotiraditya Scindia or Sachin Pilot should be projected as Congress’s P. M. in next general election.
