Some interesting news brief on last Monday of May 2018.

1. Mumbai Airport- Now a days if you are travelling to/from Mumbai, then you must have faced  delays for your flights while landing or while takeoff. This is because of Airport Authorities are upgrading the system, which is used by pilots of aircraft on approach to land the plane.  I do not  understand how the Airport Authorities discontinued the old system when they were not ready with the new system. Was it not possible to use the old system, while new system is under installation?  The delay is happening , because the main runway of Mumbai airport is generally closed for 5 to 6 hours for installation of this new instrument landing system (ILS). During this closure period flight operations are moved to the secondary runway, which due to various factors can comparatively handle lower volume of flights in an hour. Yesterday  being Sunday main runway was closed for six hours during day time, which resulted in  more than 350 flights being   delayed till 9 pm in the night. Today also the main runway  will be not available for operations for 3 hours in the afternoon, which will lead to more delays in the evening period. The Airport authorities made a statement yesterday that the new ILS work  for main runway is expected to be completed by 2nd Jun 2018, which means like last week , this week also will be chaos at the Mumbai Airport with delays in the flights operations. My only contention why the Airport Authorities did not plan the installation of new ILS properly. It is general knowledge that domestic flights are having more loads in the month of May because of School/College vacations and hot season, the authorities could have planned this installation in some lean period.
2.  Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu yesterday made a statement which was quite shocking , he said Modi is just a campaign CM, and No one has benefited in last 4 years of Modi Govt.Till few months back Naidu’s party Teleugu Desam Party (TDP) was part of NDA, just because Modi did not gave special status to Andhra Pradesh, which TDP was asking after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into 2 states of Telangana & Andhra.  Modi govt explained to him that as per Supreme Court directive no state can be given a status of special state, but he did not listened  and decided to sever the link with NDA govt, and even withdrew his ministers from the govt. Till few months back same Naidu was praising Modi govt and now he has guts to say that what Modi govt has done. Mr Naidu you are well aware of the facts about the achievements of Modi govt, but now you are speaking language of Congress party, as if Congress party is coming to power in 2019 and going to grant a special status to Andhra, which is a wishful thinking.
3. Cricket- So at last IPL is over and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the winner  of the IPL 2018 Trophy. In the finals yesterday they beat Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) convincingly by 8 wickets, and for them the man who made it possible was Shane Watson  who scored 117 runs in just 57 balls, and mind it his first run came in 11th ball which he faced, so in affect he scored his 117 in just 47 balls. His innings was treat to watch, and what ever chances which SRH was fencing before he came into his own,evaporated and CSK completed their target of 179 runs with 15 balls to spare. Watson came heavily on two SRH bowlers Sandeep Sharma ( 52 runs in 4 overs) , Kaul ( 43 runs in 3 overs) and  Craig Brathwaite ( 27 runs in 2.5 overs),only Bhuvneshwar Kumar ( 17 runs in 4 overs) and Rashid Khan ( 24 runs in 4 overs), such was his dominance. The Orange cap winners was Kane Williamson of SRH with 735 runs in 17 matches, and purple cap winner was  Andrey Tye of Kings XI Punjab(KXIP) with 24 wickets in 14 matches. So we all wait for  IPL 12 in 2019, as next year is election year, we do not know how the matches of IPL will be scheduled as  next Apr/May is the time for polling.
