If you go thru newspapers now a days, you will read conflicting views reflected by various political leaders, a non Indian reading the same newspaper will think that these leaders are from different nations and can not be from the same country India. Such are the divergent views that are expressed and most of the leaders are self centered except few ministers from the ruling alliance, who talk about the welfare of the nation. Let me brief you about the recent news items covered by media:
- Yesterday speaking at Berkeley, California, USA the Congress VP Rahul Gandhi made a statement that Indian Politics is full of Dynasty system , and he tried to justify the same by referring to Akhilesh Yadav son of Mulayam Singh , Tejasawi Prasad son of Laloo Prasad Yadav, MG Stalin son of Karunanidhi and many more. The point is he was trying to justify the dynastic politics prevailing in the country. Further he said that they lost 2014 elections as the Congress Leadership had become too arrogant, and what ever else he said on terrorism, Kashmir issue, Economic policy and about his work within UPA 1 & 2 is like a scoring self goal as he thought Indian audience in USA are all ignorant about Indian Politics. He further added that he is willing to lead congress in 2019 elections and ready to become Prime Minister.
- Let us see some other story from BJP camp- Recently Amit Shah , BJP President, visited Mumbai. He along with CM Devendra Fadnavis called a meeting of BJP’s MLAs and MPs from Maharashtra. Where Party President emphasised that during 2019 elections party should prepare for procuring 350 seats in Lok Sabha and 200 seats in Maharshtra Assembly. In the meeting he asked all the 123 BJP MLAs and 10 independent MLAs supporting BJP to adopt the constituencies where BJP has lost the last assembly elections. He further added that party High Command is not happy with the performance of 11 out of 23 MPs and 39 out of 123 MLAs, and asked them to work harder and show the results if they want themselves to be re nominated from these seats. See the difference between two parties- the Congress is still harping on Dynasty Politics and BJP is trying to assess their strengths and weaknesses for the next elections.
- Laloo Prasad Yadav is still living in his dream world and says that he and his son will not honour the summons call of CBI for questioning them in dis proportionate asset case. He thinks it is his and his family’s birth right to loot govt funds and properties. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already attached the properties of his daughter Rajya Sabha MP Misha Bharti and his Tejaswi Prasad (ex Dy CM) in the capital city New Delhi. As per ED the market value of these properties is more than Rs 170 Crores while they were purchased in few crores few years back, it only means that govt dept favoured them and their CAs when questioned by ED were unable to explain the sources of funds for purchasing these properties.
- Coming back to Congress- I do not know what was in Rahul Gandhi’s mind when he said that he is ready for PM’s post. Considering Congress and its allies are having about 60 seats in parliament, and from 60 to 273 seats is a quite a jump and from where/how Rahul is planning to get these extra 213 seats, when most of his allies like SP, RJD, NCP are in down trend phase and other leaders like Mamta Banerjee (TMC), Navin Patnaik(BJD) will not like to allign with Congress because they will think that if they allign with Congress they might lose their vote bank also. Only ally they may get is DMK in Tamilnadu provided AIADMK goes with BJP.
So friends, you will see from above that what is the difference between two major alliance in Indian Political scene. The Principal party BJP from one major alliance NDA has already started preparing for next general elections and state assembly elections which are 19 months and 24 months away respectively. The only other major alliance UPA is weakening and its Principal Party’s (Congress) main leader is living in his own world without knowing what is the actual reality in the Indian Political scene.
