In today’s weekend blog, I am writing on cricket, and this time is about Test Cricket. Many of us do not know that test cricket started 148 years back in 1876 between Australia and England. Umpteen records were created by many players over the years, and here are a few interesting records of test cricket:
1 Sachin Tendulkar (India)- He holds the record of scoring maximum runs 15921.
2 Don Bradman (Australia)- Highest Batting Average of 99.94.
3 Brian Lara (West Indies)- Scoring highest runs in an inning- 400 runs.
4 Graham Gooch (England)- Most runs in a test match 456 (333+123) runs.
5 Don Bradman (Australia)- Most runs in a test series- 974 runs.
6 Jasprit Bumrah (India)- He is a pace bowler, but still he smashed most runs in an over while batting- 35 runs.
7 Mohd Yousuf (Pakistan)- for scoring most runs in a year- 1788 runs in 2006.
8 Sachin Tendulkar (India)- for hitting most 100s in test cricket- 51 centuries.
9 Brandon McCullam (New Zealand)- for scoring fastest century in 54 balls.
10 Don Bradman (Australia)- for hitting maximum double centuries- 12 double centuries.
11 Nathan Astle (New Zealand)- for hitting fastest double century-in 153 balls.
12 Sachin Tendulkar (India) –for most 50+ score-119 times.
13 Misbah Ul Haq (Pakistan)- for scoring fastest 50-in 21 balls.
14 Ben Stokes (England)-for hitting most sixes in test matches- 128
15 Sachin Tendulkar (India)- for hitting most fours in test matches- 2058
16 Courtney Walsh (West Indies)- for scoring most ducks in test- 43
17 Muralitharan (Sri Lanka)- for taking most wickets in tests- 800 wickets

19 Anil Kumble (India) and Jim Laker (England)- for taking all ten wickets in an inning.
20 Rahul Dravid (India)- for taking most catches in tests- 210 catches
21 Mark Boucher (South Africa)- Most dismissal as wicket keeper- 555
22 Sachin Tendulkar (India)- Most test matches played 200
23 Graem Smith (South Africa)- playing most test matches as Captain-109
24 Jacque Kallis (South Africa)- for wining most Man of Match awards in tests- 23.
25 Sangakara & Jayawardene (Sri Lanka)- for highest partnership for any wicket in test match-624 runs.
26 Don Bradman (Australia)-for scoring most runs in a day- 309 runs.
27 Shane Warne (Australia)- for taking most wickets in a year- 96 wickets
28 Sri Lanka Team– for scoring highest runs in an inning-952 for 6 wickets
29 New Zealand Team– for scoring lowest runs in an inning-26 all out.
30 Australia Team – for Most test wins in a row- 16 test matches
31 Muralitharan (Sri Lanka)- for taking most 5 wickets in an inning-67 times.
32 Bapu Nadkarni (India)- for bowling most consecutive maiden overs- 21 overs.
