Thursday Surprise

Today’s biggest surprise is that all the charge sheeted 15  accused in 2 G scam have been acquitted by the Special Court. This is really mind boggling, everyone was aware about this scam and so many people were behind bars for few months and initially even HC/SC had denied bail to all of them, which meant that the higher courts had found something very fishy in this scam and denied the bail.  Few observations on this judgement

1. Ghulam Nabi Azad ,made a statement today that for which reason we lost the election and are now sitting in the opposition, that scam never happened, and BJP got the advantage and came to power.
2. Azad is forgetting that 2G was not the only scam during the regime of UPA, there were other scams like Commonwealth Game scam, Coalgate scam, National Herald and many more. The verdict in other scams are still pending. So if  UPA/Congress were thinking that all these persons were not involved in the scam, then what was the meaning of then PM Manmohan Singh’s statement that” he could not control these scams and ministers as his hands were tied by coalition dharma.”
3. It is known fact that opposition is bound to take the advantage of the situation , which BJP and other opposition parties did.
4. Can some one from Congress answer why Congress was opposing Lokpal Bill and anti corruption agitation of Anna Hazare, because at that time name of most of their ministers were mushrooming one after another in some scam.
5. AT the time when scams were surfacing between 2007 to 2012, Congress/UPA govt was a big failure in doing damage control, on the contrary more and more scams started surfacing.
6. If Congress now feels that all scam sheeters are clean or what you say in Hindhi” Doodh ke Dhule Hue”, then why they could not defend them properly in front of general public during campaigning of 2014 general Elections.
7. Public is all aware about the assets holdings of all the scam sheeters before and after the scam. Now if the present govt start investigations about assets of them, then all these people will raise hue and cry and say it is political vendetta.
8. After 2010, there was big wave against corruption in the country and BJP being the main opposition party took maximum advantage out of it and people supported them and in Narendra Modi they found a leader who had a mass following and who has got a  non corrupt image, and rest is history.
9. Can any one from Congress tell me who was their leader in 2014, who had built pan India image before 2014 elections, Rahul thought because of his family name Gandhi, people will support me. So Azad contention that their ministers’ implications in 2G scam was the cause of their defeat in 2014 elections is totally unfounded and wishful thinking on his part.

In the end, I do not have the full details of the verdict-on what technical ground all of them are acquitted, but if this way the verdict on all the scams are going to come then in that case there will be big doubt in public’s mind about the credibility of judiciary.
