Think Over

In today’s newspaper I read an article by a pseudo intellectual , which says that instead of talking about Hindu Rashtra, we should talk about India Rashtra, and the author has gone about lecturing Sangh Parivar about what they are doing is wrong. I totally agree with the author (Sagarika Ghose) when she says about India Rashtra , but my contention is that after independence  when our founding fathers framed the Indian Constitution and it was with the the intention of developing India Rashtra but what led to the situation that after 70 years of independence that people are talking about Hindu Rashtra. Indian citizens have given clear mandate to right wing party BJP at the centre and in the state after state they are winning and forming state govts. There must have been some follies committed by Congress Party 60 years of their rules.

Below are the few of the points which according to me have led to present situation

1. Nehru never got along with other political leaders after independence , like Sardar Patel, SP Mookerjee, BR Ambedkar, JB Kriplani, C Rajagopalacharya. All these leaders left Congress( Sardar Patel died). SP Mookerjee afterwards floated Jansangh, CR and JB were founder members of  Swatantra Party, BR Ambedkar  founded Republican Party and started Dalit movement.
2. Sardar Patel merged more than 500 princely states with India and Nehru took charge of one state J & K and you know what is the fate till date. Even after Raja Hari Singh  signing the acceding treaty with India , why Nehru give special status to  J&K, just because of appeasing Muslims of that state, the actual fact is that even at that time Hindus were majority in Jammu and Kashmir combined.
3. When Jana Gana Man and Vande Matram were finalised as national Anthem and National song Muslims were part of  that panel, that time they never made any objection that singing them is against their religion, then why this issue is arising now.
4. Congress Govt started giving subsidy to Muslims going on Haj pilgrimage , but taxed Hindus going to Amarnath , Kedarnath and Badrinath pilgrimages.
5. Who gave this country the first and only political emergency , where opposing political leaders and people from media were put behind bars without trials.
6. Congress was the first big party who started following dynasty politics and nepotism. Sanjay Gandhi, son of Indira Gandhi enjoyed extra ordinary powers during emergency. After Sanjay Gandhi’s death, Indira’s other son Rajiv Gandhi joined politics  and within 4 years he was made Prime Minister after Indira’s death.
7. Congress party went against SC judgement in Shah Banoo case and enacted new law to appease Muslims. He committed one more bigger mistake, for appeasing Hindus, by opening the locks of Babri Masjid gates which were locked after independence, as there was dispute about Babri Masjid location, which Hindus believe is the place of Lord Ram’s birth.
8. That time BJP had only 2 seats in the Lok Sabha and they were looking for the issue to bring their party into lime light, and they took up the issue of Ram Janam Bhoomi and Hindus started following them. In the next elections in 1989 they won 82 seats in Lok Sabha,  and after that they went on increasing their seats and in 1988/99 they formed the govt at centre with support of other parties.
9.  When Congress came back to power from 2004 to 2014, there were scams like 2G, Coalgate, Commonwealth Games and  many more. Learning about them was a total shock to general public as value of the scams were in Rupees Lakhs of Crores, and people were disgusted with Congress and voted BJP and their alliance back to power , where only BJP had clear majority of their own. So a party which had only 2 seats in 1984 comes to power with clear majority of their own in 2014. This was the fall of Congress which secured only 44 seats, as people totally rejected Congress’s PM nominee Rahul Gandhi( son of Rajiv Gandhi).
10. Other than above points, there was one more factor which led to Congress’s down fall and which was their appeasement of the  Press and media. They gave undue benefits to the people of the media which were partial to them. Classical being National Herald, NDTV, India Today and many more. Even the writer of the article, which I mentioned in opening para, along with her husband Rajdeep Sardesai is recipient of huge property in New Delhi’s prime area at a peanut value few years back, which is  costing around 100 crores now. And they are the people who write against the present govt to show their solidarity with past masters and say they are secular, my foot. All these type of people are self centered and they work only for their benefits and they do not have any love for their country.The biggest irony of our country is that we are let down by the fourth pillar of democracy, which is media.
11. Muslim community after enjoying all the benefits given by the govt talk any thing which is against  the law of the country. They do not want to be covered under common personal law or civil code and say that they will follow their personal law. The constitution of this country say that all citizens are equal then why separate law for them. They say they are Muslim first and then Indian, and all other citizens of this country say that we are first Indian and then they specify their religion like Hindu, Sikh, Catholic etc. The classic case is now retired Vice president Hamid Ansari , who after demitting his office said that Muslims are feeling insecure and we should  have tolerance. Mr ex VP if you were so insecure why you did not resign after BJP came into power and you started feeling suffocated, but you wanted to complete your term and enjoyed all the benefits of ex VP.
12. Coming back to  J & K ,why Congress went on appeasing Sheikh Abdullah and his next 2 generations, but instead Kashmir problem being solved, it got worsen.
13. Why no one speaks for 5 lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits who were thrown out of Kashmir in 90s, and why they are never party to Kashmiri talks.
14. So I want to tell people like Sagarika Ghose that, above are the few points which has led to present situation, and I can write about 100 more. This has also led to Hindu feeling being alienated in their own country and mind it Hindus constitute 80% of our country’s population and that’s why this talk of Hindu Rashtra has started. Secondly as per our India’s freedom treaty with  Britain our country is known as India aka Bharat and aka Hindustan, so what is wrong in calling Hindustan as Hindu Rashtra.
