Tuesday Titbits

Some Tit bit news on this Tuesday of April 2019.

1. Yesterday, I wrote about Biopic film on PM. Now Supreme Court (SC) has asked Election Commission (EC) to watch this film and give its decision in a sealed cover by April 22, on whether the film could be released during the polls. The film will be specially shown to EC by the Producers, with SC asking the EC to take decision by Friday. I do not understand why the Congress is objecting about the release of this film during election period, before this Congress also objected to the biopic on Manmohan Singh. I do not think the general public is so naive that they will be influenced by a biopic film. If that is so then why Congress sympathisers have not thought about making films on Congress stalwarts of Nehru/Gandhi family, no one was stopping then. This biopic film was in the making for last 6 months, why they did not approach the SC before that and got the stay on releasing the film during elections. One side Congress is proclaiming that we are going to win the elections and throw out BJP govt, then why are they so afraid of a film. I think during the next elections there will be guideline from EC that no biopic on any political leaders to be released during election period.
2. SC, yesterday clarified that it has not offered any view or finding on allegations levelled by Congress President Rahul Gandhi about corruption in Rafale deal and PM’s complicity in it. SC has asked Rahul Gandhi to reply to a petition seeking contempt proceedings against him. SC has given Rahul Gandhi time up to 22^nd Apr to reply, why the contempt proceedings shold not be initiated against you.. SC judges further added that “ We did not say any such thing (chowkidar Chor Hai). We make it clear  this court court had no occasion to record any view or finding or make any observations as allegedly attributed to the SC by Rahul Gandhi, no views, observations or findings should be attributed to SS in a political address to the media and in public speeches, unless it is recorded by the court.” The SC was referring to to Rahul’s comment that “now SC has accepted that Chowkidar has done the theft. The court has said that in Rafale deal two persons have indulged in corruption, one is narendra Modi and the other is Anil Ambani. The chowkidar has stolen Rs 30,000 Cr and given the same to Ambani.” I really do not understand the intelligence of Rahul’s team, that they thought  when court has accepted to introduce certain leaked papers from govt’s file in Rafale case, that Rahul can safely say Chowkidar is thief. Secondly I dread to even think , if  a person like Rahul Gandhi who does not have any reasoning or logic sense to become PM of our country. Even after being in Parliament for last 15 years, Rahul has learnt not much, about what to speak , when to speak.  There has been enough posts on social media about  his goof ups on same topics at different times. He does not even remember what figure he gave one day, on the other day he will quote differently. My feeling is that think tank of Congress has understood the limitations of Rahul but they are going ahead with him, because they know if he  comes to power and become PM by default , then these people from his think tank will have field day. If you remember same thing happened with his father Rajiv Gandhi, where Rajiv’s think tank people had field day, and made enough moolah. That is part of history and I sincerely hopes that history  does not repeat itself.
3. Vellore Parliamentary Constituency in Tamilnadu- The Election Commission (EC) has sent ‘A recommendation to cancel Lok Sabha polling in Vellore, to the President Ramnath Kovind.’ This is the outcome after  a large sum of cash was allegedly seized from a  from a DMK candidate’s office a few days ago. The District police had filed complaint against the candidate Kathir Anand (of DMK), as well as two party functionaries on the basis of a report from Income Tax o Dept. Kathir Anand is the son of senior party leader (DMK) Durai Murugan. On 30^th Mar IT officials conducted searches at durai Murugan’s residence over suspected use of unaccounted money for electioneering and seized Rs 10 Lakhs in  alleged excess cash. Two days later, they claimed to have seized Rs 11.53 Cr from a cement godown belonging to a DMK leader’s associate in the same district. Now as usual what is Durai Murugan reaction, that it is Political vendetta, by certain political leaders of the state ruling party, who could not face DMK in electoral arena. Remember DMK is part of UPA, where as AIADMK is with NDA.
