Friends you must have observed that during last few weeks I have not been regular in posting my blogs, the reason being I was having many outstation guests at home, therefore on some days due to preoccupation with them I could not write my blogs.
On this second Wednesday of 2018, few thoughts have come to my mind which I want to share with you all
- Triple Talaq Bill- In the Loksabha the bill was passed with comfortable majority for govt, but in the Rajyasabha as the combined opposition is having majority the same was stalled. The opposition demanded that the bill be sent to Parliamentary Panel for review, which govt did not agree. Congress demanded that the provision for criminal proceedings against the culprit should be removed, their contention was if the man is arrested and faces trial in that case who will take care of Wife and children. It looks like Congress on some reason or other want to stall the bill and please Mullahs and other Muslim leaders. Can some one from Congress tell me who was taking care of children and wife after a Muslim man has pronounced triple talaq.
- It seems Modi govt is winning over the Muslim women. First with introducing triple talaq bill and next allowing Muslim women to go on Haj without male escort called Mehram. Earlier Muslim women were allowed to go to Haj, if they were accompanied by the any male person whom they can not marry by Muslim law, therefore that person can be her father, her real brother, her son or in some cases her uncles. Now govt has allowed any Muslim women above 45 years, in minimum group of 4 such women. The group can go to Haj without Mehram and Saudi Arabia govt has also agreed for the same. So Modi govt has won the hearts of Muslim women and ensured that in future elections they will support BJP. It has been said during last election in UP with Modi announcing that his govt will introduce bill against triple talaq system, majority of Muslim women voted for BJP and this was the major cause of BJP’s land slide victory in UP. This action of BJP govt has a reason for the worry for Rahul Gandhi and other leaders who are generally banking on their Muslim Vote banks. Therefore in Gujarat Elections , sensing that the Muslims, specially women, are turning towards BJP, they started with reservations and caste politics. And it looks like that they are going to continue with these in coming assembly and general elections.
- So in South Africa , India lost the first test without any fight. It was creditable performance by Indian fast bowlers in both the innings by not allowing SA’s batsmen to score freely and restricted them. But it was highly fancied Indian batting which failed and no batsmen could survive against pace bowling of SA. Only creditable performance from Indian side was of Hardik Pandya, who was playing his first test match. He scored 90+ runs in 1st innings and also took few wickets. What happened to world class batsmen like Shikhar Dhawan, Murli Vijay, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma , I wonder why a batsman like Ajinkya Rahane whose batting average in overseas test is fantastic is sitting on the bench. Or has he is fallen out with the Jodi of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri. Only future tests will throw some light on it.
- Few hours back I saw one news item on TV channels and that is SC has asked to reopen 186 cases pertaining to 1984 Sikhs massacre after Indira Gandhi’s death, with fresh look and evidences. The incident happened more than 33 years back. The real evidence has been destroyed by the successive Congress govts and so many witnesses may not be around now and many Congress leaders, who were accused that time and were let off by the courts because of want of concrete evidence may have expired, and so will be the case of victim’s family members who survived that time. In the end is this again a joke on our judicial system
