Tuesday Titbits

Few of the interesting news items which caught my eye on this Tuesday:

1. So after Nirav Modi/Mehul Choksi /PNB scam, there is one more scam which has come out is that of  Rotomac Global promoted by Vikram Kothari. The total default amount runs into Rs 3,695 Cr and there are many Banks involved who have lend the money to Rotomac . The  Banks are Indian Overseas Bank( 771 Cr), Bank of India (754 Cr), Union Bank (459 Cr), Bank of Baroda (457 Cr), Allahabad Bank (330 Cr) , Oriental Bank (97 Cr) and Bank of Maharashtra (50 Cr).  One thing I fail to understand how a same company can avail the loan facility from so many banks,now if a  company in operation approaches a Bank other than its present Bank, doesn’t the second bank check why the company wants to have additional loan and if there is any repayment problems with the first bank and what is the credibility of the borrower. Now Rotomac company has taken a finance from 7 banks and all the 7 banks have lost their money. This would not have been possible without any political support and back up. I personally think that more and more banks will come forward and make the name public of defaulting borrowers who are instrumental in creating Non Performing Assets (NPA) and Bad Debts (BD) for the Banks. This will happen mainly due to pressure of the present govt on all the banks to come clean on NPS and BDs, which is ruining the economy.
2. Delhi Govt headed by Arvind Kejriwal is facing a fresh crisis as all Delhi Govt Officers are going on strike over the alleged assault on Delhi Chief Secretary (CS)  Anshu Prakash by AAP MLAs. This incident happen last night when Prakash was called for meeting by Kejriwal regarding the issue of advertisements, which are not being released. There was heated exchange at the meeting, during the argument 2/3 MLAs manhandled CS and in the process his spectacle was broken. It has been reported that after the incident CS met Lt Governor (LG) Anil Baijal and apprised him about the incident.The spoke person of striking officers said that this is like a constitutional crisis, as we have never seen thing like this happening any where in the country.
3. A Senior Pakistani Reporter Buasher Lukman has said that” Modi is more dangerous than what Pakistani people think, he has still not shown his real character. If Modi wins 2019 general elections, then we Pakistani will be ruined. Modi losing 2019 Election will be biggest win for Pakistan, and if he wins then no one in the world will recognise Pakistan as a nation”. He further adds that Pakistan should help all those parties in India who are anti Modi, specially Congress, so that with  combined efforts we should be able to defeat Modi. Before Lukman, a Senior defence official  Tariq Pirzada had also said  for stopping Modi, we should help people like Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal, with their help we should be able to break Hindus into different castes. It looks like these things of breaking Hindus are again being tried by Congress ( Gujarat elections is a recent example). Was this strategy of Congress was on the behest of Pakistani agents, and there is speculation in media that Mani Shankar Iyer’s visit to Pakistan may be the part of this conspiracy. Now if this type of thing happens and Congress take support of Pakistanis , then in that case it might so happen that other super nations who are friendly with Modi will enter the fray   and next general election in India will be scripted by outside forces. Doesn’t it sound strange???  It might happen————-.
