For last few weeks there have been many controversy on twitter
First it started with Sonu Nigam’s tweet on Loud Speaker being used for early morning azaan call from mosque premises. His contention was that when use of loud speaker is banned from 10 pm , why this special permission. He raised a valid question , but few fundamentalist muslims objected to his tweet and started abusing him badly and one muslim cleric announced that he will pay Rs 10 lakhs to a person who tonsure Sonu Nigam’s head. In response Sonu Nigam shaved his head and asked the same cleric to pay him Rs 10 lakhs.
Second controversy started when Paresh Rawal tweeted that Arundhati Roy should have tied to jeep instead of stone pelter in Kashmir. This was in response to Arundhati Roy’s supposedly statement in Pakistani media that even 70 lakhs strong force can not contain the Kashmiri separatist movement. There was such an up roar that Paresh Rawal had to remove this statement from twitter. It is a well known fact that Arundhati Roy has a soft corner for Kashmiri separatists, and she gives anti national statements all over the world that these pseudo secularist never object.
Third controversy is of singer Abhijeet, when he tweeted against Shehla Rashid, agreed that language used by Abhijeet was bad. No one realises that what Shehla had tweeted- her tweet was ” From Gujarat to Bengal to Madhya Pradesh, BJP leaders are running sex rackets, child trafficking – big racket.” And what was Abhijeet’s response “There is a rumour that she took money for two hours and didn’t satisfy client-big racket”. So what happens next Twitter group banned Abhijeet’s twitter account, it so happens that Twitter Indian operations CEO is also a muslim. In my opinion both the tweets were in bad taste, but why the action against one. Now Sonu Nigam has openly come out in support of Abhijeet and has stopped using his twitter account against this uni lateral action of Twitter India.
So it has become obvious that twitter Indian operation is siding with this minority community, as what ever these people tweet will never be censored, but if you write any thing against them, the community well wishers will spit venom and will get away with . How much venom was used against Sonu Nigam is unbelievable.
